That they are just not as good as Odin Sphere. Dragon's Crown is boring to play by yourself and Muramasa is repetitive as fuck and gets really uninteresting in the story department halfway in the game. The limited types of swords hurts it too. Grimgrimoire has a ridiculous spike in difficulty even though the story was really interesting and gripping.

I had a ton of fun playing it with the random drop-in multiplayer, but it is really slow until the first tier of dungeons are cleared out and you can start hitting random areas in succession, with that fun risk/reward system. I really wish there was an option that let you do that right away on new characters if you've already beat the game once.

I haven't played the ps2 version in a long time so I'm not sure how well it holds up. But as much as I hate saying "it hasn't aged well", I have a feeling that it would apply to the ps2 version if I were to replay it. I remember even then, the combat was fairly clunky at times.
I would say play a little bit of the ps2 one and see if it's your thing. If not, I don't think there is any shame in moving on to the remastered one. Vanillaware is one of those devs that has greatly improved over time imo.

I'd say it's pretty good. The original ps2 version is included (which almost feels like a different game), its hardest unlockable difficulty is also supposed to switch up the way you normally play the game by quite a bit and it has a boss rush mode of some sort.
It's also a fairly lengthy game with multiple endings and 5 characters that all feel and play differently from one another. So even if you don't replay it, you'd probably still get your money's worth.

I loved autisticaly managing my inventory, mixing potions, and hoarding ingredients/shoving food down my characters throat for some reason. Combat definitely wasn't it's strong suit, you could pretty much find an attack that worked for you and spam it till everything died or chuck a bunch of potions.
The art style kept me going though till the end. I'm excited for the battle system overhaul.

It's not like Muramasa or Odins Sphere where the combat is fluid, things get really cluttered and the constant chiming in from the npc players in the party are annoying. Gamestop completely screwed me over with this.
I had pre-ordered the game from them, and payed in full everything. All I had to do was pick it up.
I ended up losing the receipt because the thing I had it in flew out the window of the car.
This wouldn't be a problem though because they usually keep pre-orders in the system along with names/numbers/addresses.
The dumbass employee apparently didn't do their job though so that's $80 down the drain.
