Why hasn't Vanillaware made a 2D versus fighting game?

Actually I suspect that new Mech game they are working on will probably be a slow fighting type game, that or a strategy, but I feel more on the former since they haven't really done that yet.
It might be neat. Honestly.
>Has cameos from other games
Aren't fighting games unprofitable as all fuck for the work it takes to make a good one
Because fighting games are trash.

Blazblue figured out that you can make quite a handsome profit off of single player story mode, waifu baiting, spinoff media, and bi-annual sequels. All that stuff is what pays for the actual fighting engine part (don't tell that to tourneyfags though, because single player is a sensitive subject for some of them).

because fighting games typically don't have any cooking segments
I'd like to see a Harvest Moon style game from them.

Yup, especially if you have to draw everything like Vanillaware does
Why idn't there there a vanilla ware general in /vg/?

Man I love those cooking segments.
They know how to do food right.
Why is Vanillaware aesthetic so pleasing to look at ?
Because fighters are fucking useless crap.
