Apart from a handful of areas and a couple of bosses, Dark Souls 1 is garbage.
The world design for the first half is incredible but as the game progresses it becomes laughably bad. A few songs are great but most are forgettable. The atmosphere while good is completely overrated, like the rest of the game.

major console games and systems have taken a dramatic downfall over the years. I really dont like online gaming anymore as well. I actually never really did but now that my friends dont game anymore its much worse. I prefer a good story over repetitive team death match type games and if a game can do that it has my attention. I think consoles are again too obsessed with online games and crapping the same thing with a few tweaks and putting all their effort into that over a story. Now not every game does this but this is all untimely killing the gaming industry IMO, or at the very least slowing it down

Arkham Asylum > Arkham City. Asylum gave you the most focused experience where it really felt like you were going trough a shitty night as the Batman. City is actually where it started going wrong with breaking up a story driven experience on a sandbox hub that just wasn't fun to get around in, but the design and writing was good enough for it not to falter. After Paul Dini left, it all went to shit, focusing more on the sandbox aspects and fan fic tier writing.

Smash 4 has shitty controls due to too much buffering, lack of momentum, and other random stupid shit like c-stick not working correctly and smash inputs not actually being tied to analog correctly.
Also being good at that game falls down to spamming a character's setplay and playing passively -> whiffpunish. The last set I even watched was Zero losing and I felt like I was watching a set from Brawl.

DaS2 SOTFS is bumpy at the halfway mark but towards the end it's amazing and has great lore to it. Not the best souls but not the worst.

PS4 is a great console and a great choice for current sole gaming purposes. It has the widest variety of gaming ever seen on a console and it is CONSTANTLY getting new games from this gen and previous gens. You'll only get the full benefit if you make money but it's easily the best way to play games.

The Wii U is the worst Nintendo console I've ever owned(the second worst is the 3DS), most of its games are not that great. I'll probably buy the NX because I'm still a Nintendrone at heart, but there's a decent chance I'll be disappointed with it.
Smash 4 is an absolutely fantastic game. It feels great, fun to play, watch(although I think it's a game you have to play to enjoy watching, unlike Melee) and there are a ton of viable characters.
The PS4 is amazing, there are so many great games you can play on it, there hasn't been a drought for me with the thing for ages.
