Sunset Overdrive is very fun. I understand a lot of the criticisms, but I could see a lot of potential in a sequel if they doubled down on the multiplayer. Chaos Squad is the real jewel of the game.
DR2 used to be my favorite game in the series but looking back it was waaay too arcade-y and lost too much of the nuance of the original game. Same with Off The Record. Didn't play 3, but hopefully 4 is a return to form.
the fourth iteration should be the point where the developer goes "ok, this is what went well with the first, and this is where we fell short with the next two, clearly there must be a return to form in some way"

Nothing too crazy. One of the soldier bosses in the main game was the playable character in the first DLC. At the end, he's ordered to destroy a bunch of evidence that shows the military was rensobile for the outbreak and the murder of the president. Then you see him walk out to fight Nick Ramos.
The 4th DLC, you play as the character you save at the end of the Smart Glass enabled missions. At the end, you come across the soldier, and he's wounded but not dead. He only pretended to destroy the evidence, then he hands it over to you so you can let the world know what really happened. He then kills himself.

As much as I like the series for its gameplay (yes, I enjoyed all the games), I also really like the story. I found it interesting how everything connected from game to game, and how life moved on after zombies became real. I got really excited when I realizedNick wasn't just some random faggot, instead was one of the orphans mentioned in 1.However, after Dead Rising 3, I kinda got my fill of the story, I don't really see any other unanswered questions. So what exactly are they gonna add to this new game? Assuming it is just a remake of 1 with more open world to it, that's still got to add some new details right? What else is there to cover?

This is the worst thing that could ever possibly happen.
Every game since DR1 has had amazingly poor weapon balance, DR2 and DR3 nerfed everyday items to push combo weapons. Which is why despite the AI; it's my favorite of the series.
