Trunks' hair is supposed to be the same color as Bulma's.
Toriyama used to draw both of them with purple hair because that's what he used in the manga.
Toei have consistently refused to fix Bulma's anime hair color, so since BoG he's been trying to get them to change Trunks' to match instead.They've probably given in in this case because they want to keep Future Trunks around and it'll be an easy way to distinguish between the two Trunks once the spoilt little shit grows up.
