Hide using cover. Fly to one ally to another when chased. Don't heal if somebody is already full, it reveals your position to the enemy. You can heal a target without LoS during 2 seconds, take advantage of that.

Lucio is a better healer because he's more mobile and can save himself with boost heals and his ult.

Not him, but a big factor is if your teammates have your back. Use your left shift to fly to away from enemies if allies are nearby, if you're in the air and worried about being shot alternate your slowfall on and off, don't be afraid to pull out your pistol if you need to defend yourself, it can kill people. Just try to stay around your team, a Mercy is only as strong as her teammates.

So you can swap to it when everyone else dies. Then you can headshot the squishier classes coming after you. I take every Reaper and Tracer who think they are hot shit at least with me to the grave.
Although it is an aquired taste, turn on constant beam option and persistent focus.
This means the person you are beaming you will jump to even if they are behind you. You can still make a different target jump if you look at someone else but I found it more difficult for people to predict your movement this way.
Don't be afraid to sneak up behind someone around a corner and eliminate them if you are not doing healing. Headshots (if your aim is decent) will kill someone faster than a 35% bonus to a single target who is not that great at aim.

I think so. I've played with a friend and he'll say how he has a gold in eliminations with 12 eliminations and I'll look at mine and I also have 12 with a gold. It's only likely to share eliminations and objective kills though, since healing/damage done/objective time are far harder to coordinate.

Widows can be a problem, it depends on the map and our team though, hopefully if our team is competent, which it usually isn't, they can do something about the widow. If not we try to either flank or poke the widow from far. McCree's been a little bit of an issue for us lately, not terribly, but his flashbang and fan is really strong, key is to try not to get flanked by him.

I think it's just important to make a judgement on what's going on in the match. Sometimes reviving one person won't do shit. But if your team is making a strong push, that one player, especially if they're a key player, being brought back could prevent you from losing any more teammates.

He was probably healing the entire time you tit, problem is his healing will normally be ~half of a Mercy or Lucio with the same amount of effort and uptime put in on average.

In the options menu you can find hero specific options for a lot of characters.
