Use your left shift to fly to away from enemies if allies are nearby, if you're in the air and worried about being shot alternate your slowfall on and off, don't be afraid to pull out your pistol if you need to defend yourself, it can kill people. Just try to stay around your team, a Mercy is only as strong as her teammates.

So you can swap to it when everyone else dies. Then you can headshot the squishier classes coming after you. I take every Reaper and Tracer who think they are hot shit at least with me to the grave.
Although it is an aquired taste, turn on constant beam option and persistent focus.
This means the person you are beaming you will jump to even if they are behind you. You can still make a different target jump if you look at someone else but I found it more difficult for people to predict your movement this way.
Don't be afraid to sneak up behind someone around a corner and eliminate them if you are not doing healing. Headshots (if your aim is decent) will kill someone faster than a 35% bonus to a single target who is not that great at aim.

If not we try to either flank or poke the widow from far. I can tell so quickly and easily if my team is garbage and it's incredibly frustrating. It's just so frustrating because you can't carry in this game, no matter how good you do you can't carry a team of shitters. If your team is at least some what competent but just not very good you can somewhat carry if you're mercy or something, but if your team is just braindead retards there is literally nothing you can do.

the only reason zenyata is weak is because people play him against aoe damage where his heal output is too low to help, or as a solo healer where he has to focus on bouncing his harmony orb around instead of marking kill targets
The biggest issue I have with this game is that I feel that the MM system absolutely wants to make sure you stick at 50% win rate. I was at something like 40 matches played, 25 won yesterday. Now I'm getting nonstop stomps.
I really feel like my experience playing quake 3 and UT04 years ago does absolutely nothing at all for how well I do in this game.

I'm done with Overwatch until Competitive comes back. I'm so sick of doing well and then having these massive losing streaks because my team doesn't understand how to fucking win. The number of times they leave the Payload alone for minutes at a time or when they don't even bother to stand on the point at all has made me want to tear my hair out.
