Why are new games so shit?
>56 hours past two weeks
im pretty sure it would be around 70-80 if it counted the games i play outside steam
>216 hours that could have been spent learning an instrument, reading literature, learning a new language, to draw, etc
lmao

27.2 hours past 2 weeks
the only game in the future i even care about is Civ 6
>>340185653
Over 15 hours per day? That's fucking unreal. What were you even playing?
>>340188417
Turn-based fags at least have some solid games now like XCOM 2 or TW or whatever, try to be RTS fan right now
>>340188892
i hate managing a bunch of shit at once i loved civ 5 cause it literally took me to the next unit i had to move lol
>>340188281

he doesn't understand that if someone is playing that much vidya, it is no longer a hobby; it's an addiction. And all addiction is bread in order to take up the time that you have not been using to do all those life-enhancing activities, so that you can forget for a while that your crippling anxiety and inadequacy issues are going to leave you a shell of a man who will have experienced next to none of the joys in life.
tldr: OP plays so much vidya because qsychologically unable to do any of those activities you named.

you mean that 216 hours could have been spent posting on /v/
>>340185653
cut it down to 20 hours and keep it around there.
>>340188774
I remember back in 2009 when I was severely depressed playing on a single TF2 server for 20 hours straight, went through the whole map rotation like 4 times.
Man I miss when that game was good. I miss the FA community a lot too.
>>340190389
>addiction is bread
this negates the edgy pseudo-psychology of your post quite hilariously
>>340189247
You have to be over 18 to post here.
>>340190389
My question is: what makes putting 210 hours into vidya any less productive than putting 210 hours into like... Reading Stephen King or some shit.
People like to say get a job, but nobody ever comments on how fucking miserable most wagecucks are internally.
>>340190974
Because society is build around people having jobs, it's literally what can you do for your goverment?
>>340190758
tf2 and l4d/l4d2 had great primes.
pretty dead now.
>over 300+ on game and no regrets in doing so

we're not gonna make it as a species are we?
>>340188892
is xcom 2 that good? is the first worth playing (2012)?
>>340190974
because having an addiction when you're self sufficient is different from having an addiction when you're dependent on others to work for you and pay for your food+housing
>>340189761
This. So much.
>at least 3 years worth of hours on vidya in my life

I wish I enjoyed video games again so I could play that much again.

Play times are always skewed for me. I'm so irresponsible when it comes to closing down games. I left Oblivion running for a full week one time because I never shut it off when I went to work or to bed. For example. I have 150 hours this past week, but 60+ of those hours are because I left a game running while I went out of town for the weekend.
>>340191338
yes and yes
both games are excellent
>>340188281
>learning an instrument
why is this always brought up? the music industry is fucking dead. I don't want to perform in front of family and shit.

Not like I wanted to play the game again or anything.
> 90 hours of work last 2 weeks as software dev

I just want to enjoy life again :(
>>340190859
Then leave, kid
I don't get it. how does everyone find time for these games, AND shitposting all day?
>>340188281
>tfw you probably have over 3000 hours on 4chan
JUST
>>340191743
-mission types are a lot different
-new enemies
-classes have very different skills and weapons
-lots of quality of life improvements that make the game more fun to play
-most missions are on a turn timer so you can't just slowly inch your way forward while setting your soldiers to take reaction shots
-most missions have you start in stealth so you can get nearer to the objective and take out a patrol before engaging
-tons of cool mods
I can't go back to the first one now.
>>340185653
>identify problem
>cry about it on /v/ instead of sorting it out
you deserve every bit of derpession
>>340188281

OP should've spent a most of those 216 hours looking for a job or learning a useful skill.
Everybody else probably spends absurdly more time watching tv and commercials but they don't have an hour counter telling them just how much time they've spent doint that. Wasted or cherished, seeing a number that tells you you've spent a portion of your life not doing everything else will always hurt a little.
People don't tend the times they did things but rather the things they didn't do.
>>340190389
Most people here spend less time playing video games than most normies do browsing Facebook. Gamers can handle their drinks.
