Really only works if you get her by surprise.
In most maps, she'll see your leap, and either grapple towards teammates or turn and fight. And if she drops her venom mine and starts spraying, she can win that fight.
Ideally, that distraction gave your team a vital 10 seconds to move up, but most of the time you just wasted 30 seconds doing nothing but forcing the WM to go grab a medkit.

Depends on the game. In TF2, your shot was pinpoint accurate but you couldn't charge it or get headshots, so it only did 50 damage compared to doing 150-450 for proper charging/headshots. Most other games I've played have the shot doing full damage but having insanely bad spread of you're not scoped in. Overwatch just has her have a rapid fire machine gun if she's not scoped in.

What's the hardest defense team comp to counter?
I think Bastion/Reinhardt/Mercy, Widowmaker, Torbjorn and McCree is one of the hardest ones I can think of. Mainly because it requires a shitload of teamwork to counter. Every time I try to take down one of the four groups, one of the other ones always inevitably takes me out while I'm distracted.

Genji and Tracer are debatable, they can flank but Widow can shut them out really easily if she pays attention and shoots back at them. Reinhardt can only counter her in the sense that he can shield and keep her from being able to do her job. Winston is the only somewhat reliable counter but even then she can headshot him as he flies through the air and then he'll be unable to take her down with his lighting before she rapid fires him to death.

She can get the jump on you once. When you're aware of her position you can rush it with almost anyone with decent mobility and crush her.
If she's a good player then you might lose the subsequent fight or they'll keep changing positions. But the same could be said of any character.
Don't know why I bothered responding. These threads are always made by babies who recently got killed by one character or the other and don't have the skill to counter.

Her hook is on a 12 second cooldown.
D.Va's boosters are on a 5 second cooldown.
Shave off a solid 2-3 seconds off D.Va's cooldown if you approached the Widowmaker properly and shaved her health off with the guns that actually do great damage at their optimal range.
You literally can follow her wherever she hooks to, and she cannot kill you with her assault rifle in the time it would take for you to kill her, due to your 75% armor pool.
D.Va counters Widowmaker pretty hard, assuming she is played properly.

She is kind of overpowered. Her sniper rifle has a fast fire rate, tons of ammo and it only takes 1s to charge. Unscoped it's a fucking AR that does 13 damage per shot (76's does 15)
She has insane mobility, 200 HP and an ult that gives team wide map hacks but doesn't have a map wide tell despite less powerful ults from other characters having map wide tells (and in the case of d.va, A massive warning symbol ontop of it)
Like, if you're complete garbage at aiming a sniper you'll probably not be great, but her kit is absurd for anyone who's even mediocre at sniping in other games like CS:GO or even TF2

She seems unfair when you compare her to other snipers in other fps games because a team based arena fps can play drastically different, especially with the variables of every hero like in overwatch. A lot of characters already have a lot of sense of mobility. Plus if you're a decent offense character you should be able to easily flank any widowmaker since they can't do shit at close range. A lot of people don't consider range being a huge factor for each hero in this game and thats why i think we see so many people getting potg as the edgelord reaper.

I feel like Genji is one of the hardest fucking characters to learn to play effectively. He's just super reliant on his teammates in order to flank properly, and doesn't have the staying power that Tracer does with her Recall ability or an amazing escape option like with her Blink.

In my experience people that 'main' support characters tend to not even be good at them and be complete dead weight, getting like 19% heals as Mercy and never using their pistol, but thinking they're being helpful and it's everyone else's fault they can't win a game
The worst is when you get frozen by Mei or stunned by McCree or something and they try to sit there healing you like there's any chance of you outhealing the burst damage instead of just switching to pistol and shooting the fucker

About halfway through the map, right before the big open area in front of the lab the payload has to pass under a bridge
On the left side of that bridge from the defender's point of view, you can stick the turrets in a tiny gap between the bridge and the wall and they'll shoot at enemies through the wall but you have to get right under them to shoot in and destroy them without splash damage, even Winston has trouble getting them
