The reason it looks like a "suib 20k sales" game is because it's made by the same dudes who did Senran Kagura. It has identical gameplay to the newest SK too. As in, you plow through enemies, but there's no castles to capture or objectives like a Dynasty Warrior game. You just kill enemies, move up, and repeat until you get to the boss.

They were bad, but slowly improving with CCC, I think they could be mostly fixed
>get rid of the auto-pattern learning, it's dumb that enemies you've never seen before have very few moves exposed but the ones you've seen a million times have almost all exposed. Have fewer patterns shared among trash monsters of the same general type, nobody wants to memorize move lists for individual small-fry
>make spells counter-able, Caster starts off weak but then ends up just winning everything because spells OP with enough mana to actually use them. Low MP cap while relying on the spirit drain-like abilities to power occasional spells was a fun way to play at the mid-game sweet spot.

I dunno, not saying they were great but I enjoyed them, played CCC through all the way twice, although I can't imagine playing it eight times for all combos.
