Just thinking about having to go through all those useless fetch quests, finding Skull astronomy thingies, Shards, landmarks, etc. Makes me want to gouge my eyes out

Why does everyone love this game again?
Granted, a lot of the sidequests are pretty good, yet FUCKING HORRIBLE for replaying a second time. Seriously, it's a pain in the ass trying to replay this for the new DLC. I haven't even gotten to HoS yet because it's so boring for multiple playthroughs.
I don't even know WHY I hate this part of the game. I just really hate the Peaceful Rest Valley.

Man going through this shit blind on launch was awful in the best way possible. Just trekking down into this fucking mess and realizing that Firelink and the chance to buy any curative items are so far away that you're stuck till you can rough it out was really intense. Finding that shortcut back to Firelink was such a huge relief.
