I played this on the demo CD for years and years and could never find the full CD until emulation came along. I did finish the second game though, and loved it too.

Context. I had that ugly Pizza hut demo for this game, bomberman, crash, gex, etc. Played the demo loads of times, loved it. Brother's Friend comes over, just bought the game. Getting murdered by piggles. Passes controller to my brother. Murder by piggles. Passes me the controller. Evade the piggles, brother yanks controller out of my hand, says I did good. Throw tantrum, sent to room, never player Tomba again.

Didn't play this game but loved the sequel. Is it worth a play? I notice it's full 2D rather than the weird 2.5D/semi 3D of the sequel.
Also is it possible to 100% 2 without playing the first game? There were always a few quests I couldn't finish as a kid and I seem to remember reading that you had to have a save from the first game or something

m8, Tomba is "2.5D" as well, the character assets are just sprites instead of 3D models. The world is still mostly 3D, think Klonoa.
I personally love 1 more, but 2 is great in its own way too. Both are amazing games.

You know what? Just remembered that that demo was the entirety of the ps1 library at my old daycare facility. Everyone biting at each other's necks to get a chance to bask in the 2 minute timed trial. Good times.
