I think the thing that bothers me the most about Battleborn is that some people actually think the animated intro for the game is actually good, let alone passable.
It looks horribly unfinished, has the quality of a fan project, or perhaps a Junior in art college, which, to be fair, there have been animations by Juniors that I've seen that are simply fantastic. It's cringy as fuck and tries too hard to be cool and "epic", the character designs don't lend themselves well to 2D, let alone 3D, and speaking of which, I saw a post saying how 2D animation is a dying art and you should like the animated intro for that reason alone, and seriously? It's just barely 2D, and is filled with 3D shit all over, hence why I said it looks unfinished.
The worst part about it is how fucking long it goes on, and it becomes incredibly apparent how flat and boring everything, mainly the characters look, not even like, 20 seconds in.
At the most, it's bad 2D heavily mixed with 3D animation that tries to look good, and if you know absolutely nothing about animation, you might even think it looks good, which is simply wrong. In the end, it's bad 3D animation trying to disguise itself as good 2D animation.

In my own group of about 10 people, we all tried the battleborn beta together and there was actually some discussion about it. Because we're only going to play one - they were simply too close together. Even if they aren't the same game, there's still the free time economy

Gearbox deliberately took the Codehunters concept and fitted Borderlands with it.

I have mixed feelings about this post.
On the one hand: Battleborn isn't a good game. I played it for a bit and there isn't exactly anything new or innovative. I can see where they combined bits from genres, but that's about it. And then que times went to shit and I dropped it like a rock. It wasn't a BAD game, but it wasn't good. It was an ok game.
On the other hand: Overwatch isn't really innovative either. It really is just an upgrade of TF2. But it feels like a natural progression of it. Just a refined upgrade. It needs to have some balancing done, but there hasn't been a single patch yet so it remains to be seen how they'll be able to handle that. We know that McRee is getting nerfed and D.VA will get a buff. That's only what's been confirmed.
But i'm just a stupid faggot. I'm having more fun with Overwatch than I ever was with Battleborn and that's pretty much all there is to it.

To be fair, Overwatch was bound to be more popular due to its accessibility and visual polish. That game looks clean as fuck, and the game is very easy to understand, especially if you've played TF2 (or really, any FPS) before.
But I was enjoying BB more, personally. Meltdown, to be specific. It felt really fresh, well, until I became so good at it that I kept winning every match in less than 10 minutes, due to surrenders on the opposite team. Then the game died.

I actually preferred the original artstyle, it looked grittier, like getting sledge meant actually going down a dark mineshaft, the look reminded me of the bunkers in stalker. I didn't mind the codehunters cell shaded style, but I would've prefered they stuck to their guns.
