Probably because I was so young when I first played it, but the only game I can think of that really made me feel unsettled was Act I of Diablo II.

If you've not played it, Forgotten Memories is one of the best damn horror games I've played in years.It's for iOS. It's getting ported to everything else, though.It was also made in Unity.

Having re-played Dead Space 1 the other week I'd have to say it's still one of if not my all time favorite.
The sound and lighting still get me even after 8 years.
That game did so many things right.

Depends on how sentient they are, I guess. Zombies would probably not know the difference, but things that were actively trying to spook you might be taken aback.
A Silent Hill type entity might just roll with it since they're basically mirroring your subconscious anyway.
