How the fuck has this absolute KEY TO VICTORY gone under the radar on this board?
Zenyatta turns the tide of every conflict.
Like Symmetra, people assume they're only good for their support roles and don't offer much to a fight. Both are squishy but can deliver massive dps is done right.
He's WAY too easy to kill which goes against his role as a more offensive support. He's useful, yes, but he needs a buff in this health/mobility.

So can McCree and just about every other offense character can do this too, hell even a few of the tanks bring some decent DPS to the table.
Give him at least 100 more armor and 25 more HP and he'd be an excellent support.
As he is now, it takes next to nothing to kill him. It's really fucking hard to be offensive with him when 1 body shot from a Widowmaker / 2 shots from anything else smear him across the floor. Literally.

Who knew. Although from my experience you will heal a lot fucking more and easier with both Mercy and Lucio, but Zenyatta can also shit out damage.
He's in an awkward sort of spot I feel, it's almost worth having him on top of a Mercy or Lucio at times since he brings so much DPS with Discord. I think they're a bit harsh on his health right now though.
Randoms lack the coordination for his ult to be the best it can be, and I am shit at aiming his left-click. It's really hard to also pick Zen on a team since you need at least Mercy/Lucio to support the team.

Sometimes it's either not broadcast or is very quiet, I'm not quite sure, but I've noticed it in the killcam when I previously had not heard it announced, so it's either bugged or quiet as fuck randomly.
Also, Zenyatta is complete shit. He was unfairly nerfed into the ground considering just how strong Lucio and Mercy still are. Sure, he does damage, isn't that quaint? It's a shame that he's far from able to outperform anyone else in the damage department unless he gets a random charge gib from around a corner. He's the worst character in the game by a significant margin because outside of his ult countering a few others, he doesn't outperform anyone else at anything relevant, and so there is no real reason to ever pick him.
Symmetra, the butch and Mai are going to be called broken and all that jazz after McCree get gutted.

Can we talk about how invincible Zenyatta is on Hanamura(defense) where a decent Zen player literally becomes a god. The medical zone is literally three seconds away from the back wall of the dojo if he stays in the right corner, discording and decapitating with zero worries (as long as he doesn't stick his head out like a dingus) as bodies roll in. Put a Tobjorn or a Bastion beside him and its game over. The rest of the team can just stand around, smoke herb and sip tea.
I honestly feel bad for the teams that get /v/ shitters.

Zen has the power to decide who lives and dies.
It is nearly impossible to lose a 1v1 if the enemy has a discord orb on them and the ally has a Harmony orb. Zens projectiles have infinite range and no damage falloff, so there is no reason to be within the enemies range.
But none of this maters if the enemy team has a widow. fuck widow and anyone who plays her. Hanzo players are cool, but fuck widow.

I welcome this, actually. The more I know about an unfolding meta the less I tend to enjoy a game just because competitive metas are anti-fun by nature, especially in a game like this. Actually, that's why Zenyatta is so good in PUGs. As soon as a whole team dies, people start running in solo so Lucio becomes useless since they don't teamwork and stay close to him/you get close to everyone. Mercy, while healing or damage buffing, can't do damage on her own and has to stay close to whoever she's healing/damage buffing. Zenyatta is in a good middle ground where you can heal solo players and damage buff at a good distance while still providing tons of damage yourself. Problem is, his low hp doesn't help that playstyle, which is kinda dumb. Just 50 more hp would be perfect.

His orb of Discord is really good. The problem is that he dies so easily, and his heals aren't nearly as useful as other characters'.
One or both of these should be fixed.
Maybe instead of healing, his orb gives a heavy damage reduction to the ally, as a thematic opposite of the Discord orb? That might give him a bit of a different niche than the other healers.

She's absolutely amazing at holding points, zoning (these photon blasts scare the fuck out of people and melting tanks.
Symmetra is a Reinhardt's worst nightmare, cause he needs to dance around her photon balls while defending his allies and it makes it hard as hell for him. + Reinhardt is huge so often the photon blasts will hit allies behind him who couldn't see it before it was too late.
Her alt fire at max damage does 125 damage. ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE. That's a fuckton and while it's slow you can totally play around it, fire it around corners, in chokepoints, yadda yadda, it just melts people.
And her M1 does 120 damage per second at max power.
Yeah she is squishy, yeah she needs to get close for the M1. But she is the strongest sustained DPS in the game after Bastion. (her gun does double Winston's)

Zenyatta is super fun to play as, he's fucking ass at healing team members. Orb of Harmony's healing is slow, restricted to one player and requires you to babysit that player to keep it from being returned. That's playing Symmetra badly though, she's not supposed to 1vs1 people although she is certainly capable to win against a ton of characters if they're too cocky to flee (Genji comes to mind, never lost against a Genji).
Where her M1 shines though is when it's extremely chaotic, then she can just backstab enemies and they'll be too distracted to figure out where the damage cmes from, and by the time they figure it out, you've got a pentakill.
I wish I knew how to make Webms back then, but despite it being laggy, it shows what I mean very well.

Harmony is actually really good if you were to add a chain heal to it. That is, It doesn't heal your target but your target and ANYONE NEAR THEM. If it detects someone hurt that is worse off than the original target, it jumps to them.
This isn't full on heal, but a passive heal at 50% efficiency.
Another thing it could do if it's not in LOS, it doesn't keep the chain heal and simply heals at a passive rate for the single target. (50%)

Anyone that has splash damage can counter a widowmaker with common sense. Find her. Peek out from behind a pillar or wall and just give short bursts of fire until you see her pop up, then back to cover. Play peek-a-boo until she's down. Soldier 76 is incredible good at this; Using those missiles alongside some steady fire whittles her down in under 6 seconds, or forces her into the open to relocate.

Sometimes you just icebeam the enemy for two seconds and then place a bunch of icicle headshots to finish them, you don't always need the full freeze, and if they try to keep out of beam range you still just icicle their faces

I enjoy playing Zen, and to be honest I don't think he needs more health. He just needs his movement speed to be faster and his orbs to not require line of sight for teammates(and opponents) to keep them unless another ability negates that effect,which will make characters counter Zenyatta with more than just widow. Maybe add more healing to his harmony orb, but that might put him in the OP range
