Listen in your next match. Normally the first person to see Widowmaker will shout something about there being a sniper and that you should be careful. It's easy to miss in the chaos, but they do announce that there's a sniper.

Well of course the shield isn't going to last forever, your teammates should use the time it buys to fire back or disperse and flank once the shield got you inside the point. The maps are built to have multiple ways of advancing/flanking once you get close to the objective.

I wrote what goes through my head when i hear that there's a sniper on the other team. That's the whole purpose of the enemy team being unknown until your teams face each other. It creates suspense and pressure on you when you don't know into what you're getting.
You don't know if there's a dwarf with a turret behind that car or if Symettra put like 5 turrets in that room with the health packs or where the Widowmaker is. IT'S FUCKING EXCITING. This is why i love this game.
