Have to say, it starts out pretty slow and gradually gets better, but now that I am in chapter 4 this game is hype as fuck for me.
So much to do, sidestories are opening here and there that are 10 levels above my cap and I've just become able to reforge old weapons to learn new skills from them, which is awesome but the weapons are still weak as fuck and I do almost no damage so I have to compromise some characters if I want those skills.
Also the new dungeon is some sort of virtual labyrinth I'm getting lost all over the place.

I'm not anally devastated by this game like many are but on some level it is kind of funny how this game hopped on the idol aesthetic bandwagon and went to all this trouble to organize these artists and tie-ups with major Japanese record labels and that being assured of a mega hit and it just not turning out that way at all. I mean I understand the logic behind it given recent trends but the whole neglect the core and traditional fans to pursue fanatics things seems like a strategy for regression rather than bringing franchises in new directions considering we're talking about two franchises that were already popular to begin with without the need to bandwagon on recent anime trends. There's just so many other routes they could have gone that would have at least satisfied both Fire Emblem and SMT fans but instead it looks like they kind of bowed to pressure from interest groups looking to market yet more music and lost out. Japanese media scene is kind of short sighted this way especially lately, it's why I'm not sure I can count on it for much anymore.

The chapter revolves around Tsubasa doing modelling shots in a bikini with one of Maiko's old colleagues, but she really doesn't quite get the hang of it and doesn't feel confident in her ability and showing skin. The camera man gets angry at her and storms out. As it turns out then he is actually possessed by a mirage and has kidnapped some of the models whose talents he adores, and ultimately he even kidnaps Maiko, his old partner. Tsubasa then trains harder to show him what modelling really is about after finding an old magazine of Maiko and his, and that newly found confindence makes the photographer come back to his senses.
When the chapter is over Maiko, Elly and Tsubasa collaborate for a new magazine.
From what we've seen in the English version all of the risque elements have been altered, impacting both Maiko's backstory as a gravure model and Tsubasa's realization that gravure modelling is not about eroticism but about awakening unknown potential, like seeing Maiko's magazine did for her.
Also Tsubasa and Elly can later get a costume with the outfits from this chapter, which were most likely affected as well.
When Elly wears her costume she has different victory quotes like " please don't stare at me". No idea if those were changed because battles aren't subtitled.
