You still need a decent computer to run a modern paradox game, you probably don't need a 900 series but you still need a decent ammount of RAM and a decent CPU or else load times will be of several minutes and the game will stutter a lot when autosaving or at higher time speeds. The meme that you can play a modern paradox game on a toaster is a complete lie, these games are CPU intensive and require more RAM than the average computer has to run smoothly.

The best thing about PC gaming is that it suits a wide range of budgets and not every game requires twin SLI GTX 1080s with 16GB of RAM to be playable. There are a number of good games that run on every build.

... HoI3 though, god damn did they mess that up. They turned WWII into OOB autism with an opaque and hidden system of logistics. It was better than HoI2 which practically did not have any logistics in that aspect, but in every other aspect it was hardly an improvement.

OoB had it's charm and its advantages and made he game feel like a proper war game instead of a tabletop game (EU4) but I agree it was mishandled there should have been an easier way to organize your OoB. Removing it entirely was a shit decision desu. Also they should've just improved the HoI 3 supply system (give you the ability to stockpile supplies before hand, ability to choose what route the supplies take, ability to built supply centers so all the supply doesn't go to you capital first and instead goes to you desired province etc.) but I like the IC system changes and the whole new focus tree shit allows for better mods to be made so hopefully we'll see some good mods (like kaiserreich)

More like their subordinates and the subordinates of their subordinates. It's out of place in a wargame where you're supposed to control warfare and politics at a strategic level.
The control you need over OOB is the general structure and strategic deployment of your units, like how you chose the way your divisions were structured in HoI3. Beyond that OOB control is unnecessary. I mean it doesn't break the game if it's included like it was in HoI3, but it's pointless. And what ruined HoI3 was that you couldn't delegate the OOB structuring to AI without also making the AI control your forces... because the AI in HoI3 was fucking retarded.
I had an army under AI control which was supposed to guard my shit in Italy. What did it do? Went to destroy Soviets with Germany. I didn't give them that order. They just were like "we are bored of doing our job, lets go fight the commies". Impossible to control forces.
Fortunately HoI4 fixes that, so an OOB system like HoI3 could actually work in HoI4. But it sure as fuck didn't work in HoI3.
