The hatch is usually by something, like a building or landmark. It's useful to focus on generators first and look for the hatch around the generators, then if it gets down to 2 people and you still have 3-5 generators to go its best to just start looking for the hatch as quickly as possible. When you are the only one left, the hatch opens and makes a very noticeable calming sound.

Ranking in this game is totally broken. Sacrificing 4 people gives you under 10k. What you have to do is play like a complete retard and let people get away constantly to make decent dosh.

There's plenty of things that tip the game in the survivor's favor, but the hatch isn't one of them you triple casual.

If the killer does then it results in a never-ending stalemate of the killer not being able to leave the hatch because as soon as he does he loses, but the survivor can't enter the hatch with the killer there he'll just get grabbed mid-animation and lose.

no, there's no way to win in that situation if you're facing a good survivor
i'm not even talking about finding the survivor in that situation, which is irrelevant.
The survivor could be standing 10 feet from you just staring you down and you can't do shit to him if he's uninjured. If you go and attack him he simply tanks the hit and jumps down the hatch uninterrupted.
If you have a trap on you when you reach the hatch (not a guarantee) then in the time it takes to set it the survivor can escape, if you bait and cancel mid-setting the trap then the survivor can just not jump and you can't risk hitting him.
The survivor can -literally- rub up against you and if you attack him you lose.

That could be true, but it you look at list of starbreeze games and 505 games, Payday 2 is the only starbreeze game with shitty DLC practices while 505 games has a laundry list of games with microtransactions and shit. Coincidentally, Payday 2 was Co-published with 505 and Starbreeze. Also I don't think Payday 3 has much to do with it yet, they still promised to support Payday 2 until 2017, which is when their walking dead game comes out. I don't completely blame Starbreeze, but they knew what kind of company 505 games was when they got into business. For killer, insidious is great if you're using the basement, you can hide right behind a walk and then rush out and jumpscare a little shit. However while fun, sometimes perks that do things such as increase the time for a survivor to wiggle out, decrease the time it takes to sacrifice someone on a hook, or decrease the wait time after swinging are more practical.

Getting people to the basement is difficult.
Like there could be a pit that you drop people in. Takes two people to get out or a full two minutes of struggling. The pit doesnt kill, just takes you out of the action.
In general the killer isnt scary enough because nothing is going to happen if the hooks are busted. You cant bash someones head against the wall and kill them.
I bought the game a while ago but I'm looking forward to friday the 13th now instead. The only thing I really enjoy is the great sound design.

I want an official mode ala "You're Next," 2-3 killers, 8 survivors. The map is a large mansion, survivors have to hide from the killers while powering pose boxes instead of large generators, then have to unlock the main doors to run away. For the most part, yeah. Survivors will obviously have an easier time if they work together but starting generators and healing eachother also require team work. Basically as you hold mouse 1 to interact you need to do the occasional skill check and if you fuck it up the generator could explode or the survivor could let out a loud scream alerting the killer to your presence. The killer on the other hand is faster then you but cant mount over objects or collapse shit as fast as you can. He can set traps though.
The game heavily relies on teamwork but its kind of hard without VOIP or even hand signals to give.

Holy FUCK, I just won an 1v9.
One guy left pretty quick so that was nice, and I used the first hook as bait to somehow wind up downing 5-6 fucking players at the same time. I hook one of them, but the last guy gets him down so I just down the injured guy and wait out the countdown.
At this point, the 1 survivor needs 7 generators, or the hatch. I spot him over by a generator that's literally right next to the hatch, and I'm shitting myself, I can't find him anywhere. So I stand in front of the hatch and go invis, and then I hear him getting back to work repairing the generator. So I run up, say hey, and chase him for 20 seconds before he winds up on my basement hook.
Man, that was a close one. I'm so glad that guy was retarded and didn't know what the hatch sound meant, he could have heard it from wherever he was hiding.
2 lame points of note, I still got a disgraceful defeat, although my rank went up, and the scoreboard at the end only showed 4 players.

If you don't play like a fucking idiot, it's impossible to get many points as a killer. The ranking system is completely fucked for killers because of the way points are handed out, not for killing everyone, but for doing dumb shit like trapping people or letting idiots get off hooks so you can re-grab them.
Because you need to hit about 12k minimum to get a crystal, fast games where you destroy everyone very quickly don't give you anything, in fact you often rank down.
What's worse is all the people who leave after you down them, because they're that salty they'll deny you the 1000 points you need. As it is now, if I down you, you're never getting back up. The best you can hope for is to escape off the hook and get put right back on it, watching morons struggle when they're the last fucking guy alive just depresses me. Leavers should be replaced by catatonic bodies that just get auto-downed and can't be revived.
If I seriously wanted points, I guess I could grab a trap and just keep picking it up and placing it while I wait for people to bleed out, but that's just shitty for the people playing. I only let you bleed out if you're struggling like a cunt and crawling away from hooks.

Honestly this is the game I've wanted since I was 10 years old watching Halloween and Friday the 13th. I'm going to be so sad when it inevitably becomes a micro transaction filled shit hole.
Only other hopes are Friday The 13th, which at this point looks like they are banking way too hard on the fact that it has the license. I'm guessing the gameplay will suffer because of it.
Last year is another one I pray will be good (it it ever comes out) if they deliver on what they're promising it'll be better than this games beta.

You would need a good surround sound setup to be effective though and even then I don't think it would be any good. Without sound reverb and touch you would run into a wall and probably stay there without realizing it
