This is the only boss I can think of that took me that long. I was young and I didn't know I could equip 3 dark rings I already had.
I recently played Ys Origin in Nightmare mode with Yunica and Dalles kept absolutely wrecking my shit for hours. Grinding like two or three levels would have been enough to make it way easier but I really wanted to beat him like this.I couldn't do it and I ended up grinding. I really needed to get it over with and cleanse my pallet with Toal.
The first time I beat the Emerald Weapon in Final Fantasy 7, I didn't have any of the good gimmicks, like mastered mimes or knights of the round, but I did have 99 duped megalixirs and the underwater materia. I swear the fight took all night.
I play through the game again every couple of years, and last time I fought it, I killed it in like 6 minutes.
Any midgame flwaless Wings of Vi demon bosses on first pl. A few took even over 10h

The easiest way to win is to upgrade the fuck out of your shields, then have a teleporter so you can send in peeps to fuck up its missile launcher. It's an easy battle from there. And if you manage to kill everyone on board, the AI takes over and it's only a 2 phase battle instead of 3.
