Because most Android users are neet virgins who pirate everything, which is why it's a waste of time for developers to make anything for it. Also, there's so many different models and specs, that making something uniform is quite the challenge. On the other hand, despite the lower user base applefags spend a lot more on apps and developers can concenrate solely on one platform.

Touch controls are the worst controls ever.
Smartphone games are made mainly to appeal to your average Joe who desn't have any idea about gaming whatsoever. So you get games with shitty graphics, constant handholding and spoonfeeding, with option to boost your progress for certain amount of $$$.
Best five bucks I've ever spent on a game.

Kairosoft makes the best games. They are easy to get into, yet have a high ceiling.

Get the squeenix RPG ports like Dragon Quest 8, Final Fantasy Dimensions and Romancing Saga 2.
Also the Sorcery! series by inkle is fantastic.
No one's interested in making good games on mobile. Only good money.
