Well, he wanted to bring Argent energy to Earth, which seems like something the actual Satan would only get behind as a means to invade Earth with Demons.

I bet Hayden is unwittingly possessed by Satan, sort of a "ghost in the shell", and his goal of bringing hell energy to earth will succeed, only for him to be destroyed and the actual Satan made manifest on terra-firma.
