Given that typing and the name of its ability ("Full Metal Body", just a renamed Clear Body), I think it's going to have a stat spread similar to Metagross, but probably faster or with a little more Special Attack, and with a signature move that's like a beefed-up Meteor Mash. Lunala is looking pretty good, since its Psychic/Ghost typing gives it only two type weaknesses (one of which is fairly exotic) and it has an ability that's basically a renamed Multiscale. I think it's going to have good defensive stats with adequate attacking stats, like Lugia or Giratina. Hard to say what kind of signature move it's going to have, but I hope it's cool.
I think Solgaleo is going to be the Groudon of this gen -- the cooler looking cover legendary that ends up being weaker than its counterpart.

I think that's the worst-case scenario for it, and Crunch is the least of its worries. Things like Sucker Punch and Pursuit are going to maul it, even with Shadow Shield. I'm hoping its signature move can help protect it some, maybe by debuffing attack or sharply raising its defenses (sort of like a defensive Geomancy).

Yup. Offensively, Psychic and Steel are base types so Solgaleo's STABs will be ass regardless of his base stats. He's also a quadruped so he loses access to a lot of really good moves. Full Metal Body is a defensive ability, and not a particularly good one.
Lunala has a slightly better offensive typing (because of Ghost) but it's not great. Defensively it's going to get wrecked. Shadow Shield will only save it from OHKOs.

Whether you're talking about VGC or Smogon's upper tiers, the only commonly used Psychic type that *might* carry Shadow Ball is Mewtwo, and even then, it has better options. Things like Starmie, Latios, Latias, Gardevoir, Slowbro, etc. aren't going to waste a slot on it. If you're talking about battling with your friends from the anime club, you might give Shadow Ball to your Alakazam, but you'd be better off with a different move.

IIRC, Magneton and its family has the best resistance spread.
Electric/Steel is insanely good. If it had Levitate as its ability it'd only have Fighting and Fire as weaknesses and something like 8+ resistances.
