They all stick with terrible characters for the match up (double Hanzo on attack is painfully common) and do the most ridiculous nonsense like Reinhardt/Winston going balls deep into Torbjorns and Bastions only to melt in seconds. They run past chokepoints and try to play fisticuffs in front of the enemy spawn only to melt in seconds. It's truly baffling how dumb people can be. It doesn't have enough variance in potential strats to stay interesting in the comp scene and that's without mentioning the fucking awful tickrate (even at a competitive level), and the gimmicky ults mean the game will never be able to compete against CSGO.
It doesn't have enough capacity for mods, mapping, custom server modes, etc. to compete against casual games like TF2.

The problem with Overwatch is you must have a proper team that work on teamwork & tactics. I can see a lot of competitive potential but it definitely needs work & they have to get the equiv. of mutators & custom maps in.
Also have to factor in that it's definitely not a complete product just yet. Early release just to fuck with Gearbox, which makes me quite merry :o)
The catering to the casual audience has gimped it somewhat, but I get it as it maximizes profit for Blizz.

It's a nice change from TF2 but it won't last. The game is incredibly shallow and like others have said no dedicated servers, custom maps, or mods means it will die the second blizzard stops putting out updates. There's not much reason to improve since it's nearly impossible to fight and win against more than 2 players at a time so it just comes down to having good team comp and milking ults which makes for a very boring game. Ults are cool the first time you use them but after that it's the same shit forever, there's no room for the meta to evolve or for clutch plays. There's not much at stake either since players aren't punished for dying and there's no way to track ults the best tactic is to just throw yourself at the enemy team over and over and hope something works.

Getting hit by ults is really rare at higher levels and only applies when they get a good flank. I never understood people complaining about High Noon when I rarely if ever get hit by it.
I finally have a replacement for TF2. I had 4,000 hours of TF2. I'll probably do 2,000 hours of Overwatch. There haven't been any great shooters in the last 10 years besides TF2 and Overwatch.

Tickrate is how many times the server updates per second. Ever seen a guy running into a wall and not moving for several seconds and then he teleports to a new location and continues running normally? That's what happens when you stop getting updates of player position. Ever ducked behind a wall and then died from a headshot that was impossible? That was due to low tickrate. The server didn't update the other player fast enough so he still saw you hanging out in the open so he shot you then the server told your game client that you were dead even though you saw yourself behind cover. Low tickrate causes all those problems most players call "lag" or "bad hit reg".
