It's on steam right now it's just very disappointing. It's like the took the speed of Neo-tokyo but fucked over the classes and forgot why they wanted to make it fast-paced. They add slower-pace gimmicks like shields that can't really protect you from anything, but the game is so hyper paced that there's no point to alot of the mechanics. You'll see when you play it. It's just awful. There's also the P2W aspect which is just annoying and bad. The vehicles are near unstoppable and their spawns are pretty random. Prepare to die when you have to face them. It's like WW1 human rush against machine guns. The game feels like a slugfest without any real need for any kind of tactics. It makes alot of the classes useless.

What it is is pretty fucking hard, which people interpret as "broken", so they never even get passed the tutorial and declare the game to be shit. The reason it's so fucking hard is because the whole point is that humans are no match for supernatural creatures that have super senses, are super fast, super strong and borderline immortal so you don't fucking take them on.
It's not Splinter Cell, it's a survival horror with stealth mechanics. The fact that you even mention "fighting mechanics" is indicative enough of how little you understood the game.
Vampire Rain is an underappreciated game. Not a gem, but not a piece of shit either.

The shooting was actually necessary, it wasn't superfluous. Enemies were intentionally designed for you to shoot them, most had too much health for you to be able to homing attack them. Which is good design if you want to have gunplay.
It wasn't superfluous, it was rudimentary. All of the guns effectively did the same thing with the exception of a few melee weapons, and the controls did not have an effective strafe mode so aiming was way more difficult than it needed to be.
The game has its flaws but it doesn't deserve anywhere near as much of the hate it gets

The shooting is terrible. The quests are boring as fuck. The writing is too silly, although it does have some funny parts. Character customization is non-existent since the different tree's are boring as hell. The different characters aren't different enough since they only have 1 or 2 skills that have enough impact to make each character feel different. Loot is just guns that look exactly the same with different stats. The world is extremely bland and the environments look like shit. I cannot think of a single good thing from that game. They tried to make the game bigger and it suffered tremendously. Borderlands 1 had smaller but more focused zones while Borderlands 2 was just a fucking mess.

i really enjoyed the first one actually. the whole concept was there and i was younger so i didn't notice the faults as much. The heist was my favorite part.

Those three games, man. It's the fucking trinity of shit. I get a sense of heartbreak and dread every time I think about them. Why the fuck would the devs want to do this to me? Why did they want to hurt me so bad?
When my parents gave me a Gamecube I recall getting two pretty bad games with it and those were the only two games I had for months.
First one wassome shitty third person shooter casper the friendly ghost game. It was such a huge piece of shit oh my god I never fucking went through the first level I fucking hated that shit.
And the other one wasStarfox Adventures which was just mediocre I guess.

I was one of the Halo fans that read all the novels and comic books. Playing through the singleplayer was like grinding a knife into my bones. Literally NOTHING in the campaign, from the events themselves to the actually character designs, were possible to have occurred. None of it was actually possible.
The gameplay also felt like CoD, not Halo.

That doesn't fucking change that the former situation is an objectively shittier game. Stop bringing your feelings into this and say what was actually the most nonfunctional, broken, unplayable game you've played?
For me it would be the the Atari 2600 port of Pac-Man. The game just plain doesn't work, the Atari didn't have enough power to correctly run the game.
