If Chloe and Max survive it by staying near the lighthouse, why couldn't Max use the picture to tell herself to warn everyone to go to the lighthouse when the storm struck down? I disagree. The events still happened in Max's perception, so at the very least they have value as part of Max's growth. In any case, she didn't do these actions for the sake of being the one who did them, she just wanted to solve the problems, and if by the final timeline all of those problems are solved right off the bat, what is lost save for her own reputation? All that matters are the results.

Same. David was a great case of separation between the character and protagonist's opinion about the character. You get influenced by Max's opinion at the start of the game, but once you start going through David's things, it becomes obvious how much he cares about his family. Just one small detail - he kept a receipt with Joice's phone number from the day they first met. This alone immediately made him seem like a human to me.

The way mechanics showed it problems only start with extended use of the power AT ONCE.
She can spam rewinds if it's around less than a minute with no consequences, any further than that and she starts getting dizzy and worse. That said, he can go back years with no problems if she does it all at once, so the conclusion is that her limitation lays not in the time "distance" but in constant rewind (it's important to mention though that time skips can't be spammed, so you could say the situation reverses then)
So as long as you use it without going beyond the safe period, you can go crazy without worry.
