Can we all agree Overmeme is just going to be a passing fad and it literally can't compete with the big games?
>>
>>339804482
Does it need to?
>>
>>339804482
Seeing as how there's currently a Dota2 competition going on with both Russian and English speaking casters, I'd throw this image out the window
>>
>>339804573

There's always a Dota tournament going on somewhere in the world.

>>339804572

And yes, it needs to. Blizzard wanted to market this is the next huge eSports game.
>>
>shit competing with shit

Who cares?
>>
>>339805269

Overmeme fanboys do.
>>
>>339804482
It's activision, it's dead by the end of summer, then they'll introduce "season" like in diablo to get 2 weeks of activity every 3 months.
>>
>>339804482
1. twitch just doesn't give a fuck about bots
2. overwatch is losing players, not only viewers
3. it is the casual game that still draws people to your shit stream
>>
Of course it's never going to have as many people playing it as free games that can be run on a toaster.
>>
love these threads, keep up the good work
>>
>>339804671
This is one of the four tournaments sponsored by Valve. It's a lot bigger than your average tournament.
>>
That's what they get for being shitty.
>>
>>339804671
>There's always Dota tournaments
Not ones worth watching you nigger
>>
>>339804482

maybe they are all busy playing the game?

Literally doesn't matter or mean shit.

Screenshot's useless, everyone knows LoL is more popular than DotA.

>watching the best teams in the world play against eachother in a Valve-sponsored tournament
>watching those same teams play eachother in non-Valve-sponsored tournaments

What's the difference again? Other than you're just gay for Gaben?
>>
>>339805898
They don't five a shit about bots because it makes their website look like it's relevant and they want that.

The reality is that twitch has been stagnant for years in terms of viewership.

Twitch is nothing more but a pc centric memespouting shitshow. No one really cares about losers who stream video games and beg for donations there's no reason to the content is just bad and boring as fuck.
>>
>>339804482
>only 18k viewers not even two week later

Overwatch is dead in 2 weeks. The only reasons this game had 400k viewers on day 1 were the bots and the pushing of the top twitch streamers.

What a good day, knowing, that you didn't fall for the Overshill meme.
>>
>all this Overdelusion
90% of my friends who were hyped up beyond any reasonable level stopped playing this game already and went back to LoL, CSGo, TF2 and the likes
>>
>>339804482

Dota nearly never passes 100k viewers unless there is a major tournament going on.

Also overwatch is pure cancer to watch others play. CS at least has put a lot of work into their observer mode. Overwatch at this moment is horrid for observers.

You've already said it.
Valve-sponsored tournament.
Lots more buzz and publicity (e.g. the Battle Pass)
>>
>>339807481

No, that's not what I said. The random tournament get just as many Twitch viewers than the Valve events. Stop making shit up.

I'll believe that if you got any pics to prove it.

K. Can you go even more off-topic?

>Blizzard wanted to market this is the next huge eSports game.
This is why the bar is raised for Overwatch. Blizzard hyped the shit out of the game, and for good reasons since it's their first new IP in decades. Overwatch is a fun game for casuals - play it with your friends over the weekend and you'll have a good time. I doubt it will survive long as a competitive e-sport.
>>
>>339807731
I Can!
>>
>>339804573
and OW is always carried by big streamers like lirik and shit so what? Difference is Blizzard payed those streamers and Dota 2 is community driven.
>>
>Overwatch only has a casual mode at the moment, ranked next month
>Consistently in the top 3 streamed twitch games
>7,000,000 active players
>"it's all bots and shills"

Sure seems like a hat simulator/stillborn thread to me.
>>
>>339804482
It literally just came out

We'll only be able to really compare numbers after Overwatches first big tournament
>>
>>339808113
Source: my ass
>>
>>339807795

I've read from pro-players the game just can't handle being an e-sports game from a technical standpoint. The netcode and tickrates are just way too slow to make it a good competitive game. Blizzard marketing division once again overhyping the shit Blizzard actually can deliver.
>>
>>339807795
>>339808779
20Hz tick rate. This kills the MLG progamer.

Also,
>netcode
Stop saying that. You guys are retarded. Delete this.
>>
>>339808239
Hahaha thats hilarious
>>
>>339808960
What is
>>
Even ignoring bullshit kills from no-skill abilities, I don't understand how Blizzard expected a competitive scene in a chokepoint heavy game with infinite ammo. Most matches are a complete spammy mess.
>>
>>339809492
Hearthstone got big competitively despite being completely pay-to-win
>>
>>339804482
dota is popular cus anyone can play it on any shit pc
its literally the soccer of e-sport
all you need is a boll and any nig/hue will join

>>
>>339807221
"Dead" just like TF2 right? Or any other game V says are dead.
>>
>>339807935
streamers have to put "sponsored" in their title if they're being paid to play it. nobody is getting paid to play it.
>>
>>339810569
>nobody is getting paid to play it.
t.blizzcuck
>>
>>339810569
no they don't. twitch's sponsorship policy only pertains to twitch's own campaigns. individual streamers participating in independent campaigns are not required to disclose their sponsorship. though it's pretty fucking obvious when it happens
>>
Why are these threads always made in the dead of night and not during the leisure hours of 1st world countries, i.e. those who bought OW, not Russian, Aussie, Mudslime, or Huehue free botters
>>
Honest question and it isn't a sarcastic one.

Do you guys really want the game to fail? Like genuinely don't want it to be big because you don't like or understand why the game should be?

Really curious.
>>
The "big games" are a passing fad and so is Twitch

What a surprise.
>>
>>339810045

Notice how it's not 7 millions unit sold. The game is free to play in Korea so Blizzard so half that number is from there.

are you retarded? of course it won't beat mobas because the genre itself isn't as popular as mobas. oh well, here is your (you)
>>
>>339811261

The game already failed. 7 years of wasted development on a MMO larger than WoW, it's impossible for OW to make up for that.

Honestly I am surprised Kotick didn't just shut down Blizzard after a flop on that scale.
>>
>>339811525
normally it sits around 5-10k viewers

During tournaments it's being botted same with all "esports" games
>>
>>339804482
>more viewers than cs:go

try again
>>
Overwatch is pretty fun.
>>
>>339804482

I was just shitposting when I said this game is dead on /v/ but I think I might have legitimate proof now.
>>
>>339804671

>Overwatch
>esport

What? Overwatch is fucking casual shitfest, thats like saying TF2 is esport material
>>
Under these rules any game which isn't Lol, Dota, Hearthstone or CS GO is dead
>>
>>339812149

Cant even find it in steam top 99 games

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
>>
it's not going to get a big competitive scene going but it's gonna be a success either way
>>
I've seen this time and time again in /v/.

Every game that you guys have bashed is there up top.

LoL
Dota 2
Hearthstone
CS:GO

All those games you guys trashed as never going to be big. But still, they are there, actually bigger than ever.

The only one time you guys were right were Heroes of the Storm. That's it. It was doomed to fail anyway.
>>
>>339813020

Overwatch isn't even on the list
>>
>>339813329
