Not in my opinion. Gambling isn't really a game at all, it's just a rigged money sink designed to trap and prey on people with addictive personalities.

It's only rigged in the sense that the machines are designed to take in more cash than they pay out.
Really though, what's the difference between them and a MMO or FPS with a cash shop? At least you can win actual cash and not a bunch of pixels.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/ultra-hot-pachi-game-spirit-cr-evangelion/92247-road-map-trophy-guide-3889-a.html

>At the time of this writing (2011), no one has the and no one will have it for a long time to come; mathematically speaking (based on the maximum slot spins possible in an hour) it would take 10+ YEARS of running Evangelion Pachinko 24/7 to earn all the trophies. For further perspective, the odds of a $200,000 winning ticket in Powerball, or a $250,000 winning ticket in Mega Millions, are both higher than the odds of ブランク図柄集合 .

There's no skill involved in a slot machine, so it's a lot like modern AAA titles and Hearthstone

I hope you feel smart for saying that, because a videogame simulating a slot machine is hardly a slot machine is it?

I just glanced at it and assumed he was showing electronic slots, not one of those '15 machine' slots computer games. But on that same note, a lot of those box sets use actual electronics slots games you can find in casinos, so if one's a video game, I don't see how the other couldn't be since they play identically.

I've never seen a mechanic like this on a machine, and I don't know how common it is. That said, even with casino games like video poker where there is some 'skill' involved (even if it can be mastered by a simple flowchart), the odds are set so they're still in the house's favor even when you play ideally, and if you don't, all the better for them.

Yes fruit machines, which are basically slot machines.

Not all players lose money on slots, the key to not losing to gambling is to set a small budget and not spend past your winnings. When your winnings dry up, stop playing and move on.
Most people are going to lose money in total if you count their entire life but plenty have been able to keep ahead.

>>
>>339787287
They are now.
>>
>>339789925

That strategy doesn't work to make a profit. A good chunk of the time, you will never break past even and will bust out on whatever you put in, and even when you win, if you intend to leave as soon as your winnings dry up then the most likely outcome is that you will leave that day with as much money as you put in. This is a reasonable technique to not get carried away gambling, but the value proposition on every pull of the lever is always negative, no matter how you swish around your coin cup.
>>

>plenty have been able to keep ahead.
Bull fucking shit, if you gamble for a non-trivial amount of time, you will lose money except for exceptionally rare cases.
>>
>>339790281

This is why gambling should be done as a fun night out with some pals where you lose $50 playing a card game.
If you actually go to a casino to make money, you are doing it very wrong.

Even if you did start getting into a win streak, casinos can (and will) throw you out if you win too much.

They don't exist for people to win money. That's not the point, at all.

At least you still get the experience of a fun (hopefully) night. With the Lottery you are literally throwing away money for no gain.
>>
>>339790524
Literally this.
I learned to do this by being in a casino for 10 minutes. Put in 5 to 10 bucks, if you don't win shit, move to the next machine. Made $100 within 30 minutes doing this.
>>
>>339790438

It doesn't matter. Unless you win so good that you never feel the need to go back to a casino, you're always losing in the long run. Actual gambling addicts will remember the night they won $500 but disregard the seven visits in a row where they lost $100 doing basically what you're describing.
>>
>>339790656
So how's it going for you?

Presumably on $200hr with this fool proof system you're making at least $3k/day and only leave the casino to sleep?
>>
>>339790798
The point is, you leave when you're ahead. You don't stick around to gamble all the money you just earned. Made $200 total for that day. Keep being a shitter though.
>>
>>339790545

>>
>>339791264

Has it been refitted to accept quarters?
>>
>>339791315
Again, you can hop around machines as much as you want. Do you understand how a house edge works?
>>
>>339791436
Nope (look at the prize bins), I did fix it up though. The jackpot release wasn't working and there was a jam in the prize dispenser and it works almost perfectly now. Occasionally you need to jiggle the handle a bit to get the coin to accept.
>>
>>339791142
I left the casino after making $100. Went to another.
>>339791223
Yes and that it's better to quit while you're ahead. What dont you get about my post?

>>
>>339791327
>you can't game slot machines the same way you can card games that have interaction between people
except they tend to give out money after a certain number of times, so technically, you can.
>>
>>339788226
I work at a Casino, that's not really the case, one of our machines that paid out all the time was one of the oldest we had.
>>
>>339791264
Honestly I would be interested to see the mechanisms on the inside since these slots were intricate as shit back in the day, none of the computer chips and wires that you have now.

With that said I think it would be a complete bitch to pry it open anyways and I wouldn't want you to break anything or more then it already is. Still a cool piece though thanks for sharing.
>>
>>339791315

You're making at least one of two incorrect assumptions if you think machine hopping makes a difference

1. The machines affect one another
2. Machines have hot and cold streaks

Casinos are well aware that both of these are completely false, but they're more than happy to let you play into whatever superstition keeps you putting money into their machines.

>>
>>339792239

But why would you leave when you have the edge? According to machine hopping logic, you will always be winning in the long run, and if your anecdotes are anything to go by, the returns are fairly immediate. Quitting while your ahead is for people who are expecting to lose if they continue.
>>
>>339792239
What he's saying is machine hop has no outcome on your chance of winning.

It's just something that makes you feel more comfortable gambling on slots.

Casinos are full of things that are designed to give gamblers the impression that they have an edge or that their system works.

if they have a video display than yes. older slots machines no, they're amusement machines like pinball

Vegas here, Konami has a corporate office here, you would be surprised how many slot machines they make and service here in America, pretty much any slot machine like the Walking Dead, CSI or any licensed property they make.

niggers do we really need a discussion about how how gambling machines are inherently built so that its in the casinos favor? its fact, and theres now way around it. anytime you come out on top its a fluke, plain and simple. and there is absolutely no way to circumvent or predict the odds.

it is a system built for long term profit, and the more people that play, the more stable it becomes, brief play will always be at a manageable loss for you, but cumulative attempts at gambling will make you loose money, and waste your time.
