I've turned 25 now and starting to get sick of combat-based games, especially infantile multiplayer games. I vastly prefer story-driven games over vacuous garbage like Overwatch and Dark Souls.
I've also started reading a lot of books lately. The stories are fascinating and the prose exquisite.
I never grew into them desu, I've been complaining about multiplayer for years.
>>339773525
23, starting to feel that. I've only been playingDota 2consistently. Most other games are getting pretty boring.
Last game that really sucked me in was Witcher 3. Before that, I don't even remember.
I don't know, I'm trying to get other hobbies. I'm actually *making* games now.
>>339773525
I didn't really start until the mid-late 2000's because I had shitty internet and no wifi until 2008. I really don't care much about online games due to that so if I end up getting a console this gen I'm not gonna waste money on PS+.
>>339773525
How do I get Geralt to look like that? I try the haircut and clean shave but it's not the same. I'm not even GAY for DICKS but I prefer The Witcher 1 looking Geralt to his gruffer look in 3.
I like both. That's why I watch movies and play video games.
>>339773525
Congratulations you got bad at video games.
>>339774710
it's a mod
a mod that angers me with its existence
>>339773525
Never really grew out of them, but i often like have a good single player game going to take a break from all of the bullshit that comes with multiplayer.
>>339773525
How long do you think it'll take for you to grow out of desperately wanting to appear superior on the internet.
>>339773525
>I've turned 25 now and starting to get sick of combat-based games, especially infantile multiplayer games.
Fuck anonymous multiplayer. I'm only playing with people I know, i.e. local multiplayer and board games.
>I vastly prefer story-driven games over vacuous garbage like Overwatch and Dark Souls.
What do you think of JRPGs? They are story-driven games.
>>339774897
Why's that? Geralt has always been a manly man and a flamboyant pansy at the same time
Recently actually. I played Halo 5 for all of 2 weeks before I stopped.
quake is the only multi-player you need
>>339773525
I'm the exact opposite of you and pretty much exclusively played singleplayer games for most of my youth and started really getting into multiplayer games at 22
Different strokes I guess
A few years ago, I'm 25 too btw.
Used to love pvping and competing and shit like that. Now I just don't feel like it anymore, I'd rather appreciate some story driven single player game than playing something online.
How did we go from this
>>339773525
I'm not gay or nothin but I'd let that Geralt fuck my ass.
>>339775438
to this....
Probably like 21 years old. I still like coop though.
>>339773525
You're a socially inept manchild

One is a meme game corridor simulator the other is an open world meme game trying to adhere to some drunk poles lore.
>>339775465You are gayIt's fine though as long as you're not a faggot
>>339775629
Correction, one is a game. The other isWitcher 3
>>339775438
Why don't you compare 10fpsborne to a game with smooth and good combat, like DMC4?
>>339773525
He's so cute~ :3c
>When Did You Grow Out of Multiplayer Games?
When I moved to New Zealand and multiplayer ceased to exist.
Worth it though to feel like I'm the only person left in the world sometimes. Pic related

>>339775530
>>339773525
I sort of feel this way too; however, I still cant resist playing multiplayer games occasionally.
When I was in high school all I did was play multiplayer games because I liked to be competitive. But it was so stressful trying to move past your limitations in gaming.
I have thousands of hours in competitive multiplayer games like guild wars, tf2, and dota 2 and regret spending so much time on them. Single player RPGs feel like an actual accomplishment for himself when I beat them. And they are ALOT less stressful for me.
>>339775438
>>339775530
:)
>>339776134
post more?
I only really like local multiplayer. Never really got into online multiplayer, unless it's a fighting game. I'm shit at fightan anyway though, so I never play them for very long.
I think it's because I hardly ever played many PC online games (just a bit of Starcraft and Red Alert) and I mostly had Nintendo consoles growing up, which are allergic to online.
>>339775020
faggotry is terminal
Yeah story driven games are great for playing with your wife's son.
The older I get I've actually been playing single player games less
but mainly because I have more gamer friends now
Growing up I had no choice but to play games by myself
>>339773525
>Casual
It's okay anon the older you get the more you lose the ability to play games and compete/react.
>>339773525
Is this the new copypasta? It's good.
Here OP, +1 (You)
>>339776134
Moar ?
>>339773525
Dark Souls IS a single player game with multiplayer aspects.
>>339774887
One day you will wake up and realize you wasted 10+ years of your life clicking on heads really fast.
what books have you started to read op I need some audio books for when I go on my jogs. I started listening to The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and it's been okay but I feel like I need something lighter to listen to and I don't know anything about books.
>>339777431
>>339776597
I've taken pics all over the country, but mostly around south island.
Atm my big brother and I are planning a tramp/hunting trip. Thinking 3-5 days out in the wilderness.
>>339773525
At like 17 or something
I played some SFIV when it came out (20yo) but the dedication needed is just too much for me
I will still play online tho if it's the game is fast, learning curve is short and I can play and quit whenever, but since I don't know any I just stick to singleplayer
It's weird cause I'm so casual about games now but I kept my old tastes, so I can't really enjoy any new games aside from TW3, I just play old shit
>>339777507
Literature faggot here. It's not light reading, but if you want good, classic literature that is funny and serious listen to some dickens
>>339777802
Any specific title reccomendations? I was also looking into some fantasy books because I like reading history medieval history books so I figured it'd be up my alley but I wasn't sure what to pick there either if you have any recs
>>339773525
>Stories fascinating and prose exquisite
You should find some books that are just good fun. Just saying.
Anyway, I've never really been into multiplayer unless it was co-op. Just never been competitive and prefer a purpose to my killing.
25yr old faggot detected
>Btw I read books
>>339775076
>What do you think of JRPGs? They are story-driven games.
Gooks can't write worth shit
>>339777909
>Song of Ice and Fire
>The Dark Tower
>Kingkiller Chronicle
Those are fun reads.
This is the most pretentious post I've ever read. I hope you've played Silent Hill 1-3 though considering they are the greatest games ever made.
I'd also highly recommend Fallout 1.
>>339777717
Wish you a good trip then ! Come back in another thread post pics of the lord of the rings.
>>339773525
>I was never able to git gud:the post
If you weren't a plebeian you would play both
>>339773525
Around 5 years ago, I guess. I used to be all about them, but somewhere along the way I just got completely tired of playing with other people. Plus, a lot of online games these days seem to want to encourage close-knit teamwork (DotA, TF2, etc), which just doesn't work at all when you play with randoms. All you end up with is people getting mad at each other instead of just being able to chill and play the damn game.
I'm not into story-driven games, I just prefer singleplayer games with a heavy focus on skill-based gameplay.
>>339778274
Greatest game ever made is Planescape: Torment, my friend.
Never got into multiplayer games. Always preferred single player games because every decision is made by me and I don't have to put up with other peoples' bullshit.
>>339773525
>modding geralts face

Thanks mate. Not sure which other threads it would be relevant in though, this one is a one off.
Hope you like the pics. Its nice to have an excuse to share them
>>339778681
>not having the lore mod
Why?
>>339778568
Planescape has good writing but is fairly unremarkable as a game. I find Fallout 1 and many other games to mix good writing with good game far more effectively.still a respectable choice anon

South island is pretty much all that. The 2 biggest "cities" are large towns - Christchurch and Dunedin. From either of them you can drive an hour out, park up somewhere and basically lose yourself.
Its great if you embrace that and it suits your lifestyle, but if not then daily life here is mind numbingly boring compared to most countries. There's a reason there's a suicide problem here.
>>339773525
Nice blog post.
>>339779482
Only one way to know if I like it ...
>Why aren't you buying Overwatch
>Why are you playing The Witcher 3. There's no multiplayer there.
>I pirate SP games
AIDS!
This is why I prefer SP games. A co-op in a campaign is fine too.
when my high school buddies went off to college and grew out of video games
i didnt have anyone to play with :'(
>>339773525
>I've also started reading a lot of books lately. The stories are fascinating and the prose exquisite.
You are just the enthusiastic fanboy on a honeymoon, you will be back to videogames once you realize it's not your hobbies what is flawed.
>>339773525
I'm 26 and love both so long as it's done right.
you sound pretentious.
>>339773525
This is pretty sad. A functioning adult should show the reverse progression. If you read actual literature you would know that "story-driven games" in their current state are mediocre substitutes for works in other, more well-developed artistic media. And you would start to appreciate the potential of video games is in, you know, the gameplay.
multiplayer with friends who are in the same room was fun in high school and college
never got into playing with randoms online, just don't see the appeal
>>339773525
Holy fuck I look alot like geralt when he's younger in that pic except with brown hair and without the eyes and scar. I doubt I'll even look like older geralt, I can't grow a beard.
Found it for you

competiton/challenge, if you don't like or get fun from those you probably don't like videogames at all.
>>339773525
27 here
I always have loved a good story, but I enjoyed the social interaction of multiplayer games, like sitting next to someone and tearing they're asshole because you beat them or defending your shit when you get fucked up
I stopped buying games like mario kart and fighters because i'm better than my friends.
they won't play with me anymore ;_;, I remember play brawl with one of my best friends and I had to throw every third or fourth match because if I had a win streak for too long he say he "got bored" and would decided to watch netflix instead. he was so bad that he didn't realize I was throwing matchesI beat him one time with olimarusing no pikmin
>>339773525
You sound like you had a quarter life crisis and became desperate to find some sort of meaning in your life. Pretty sad honestly.
The strength of videogames is gameplay, it's what they do as a medium that other mediums cannot. Read for stories watch movies for spectacle and cinematography and play game for gameplay. Easy fucking peasy. On a final note that last sentence was really embarrassing to read.
