>Go play comfy game
>Comfy thread is gone
Can I get another one bros? I kinda want to reopen and mess around more with Banished "Colonial Charter mod"
Just post comfy towns and if you aren't making a town, Post comfy screenshots of your game
I'm playing banished on my PC and then I'll play on my laptop in bed :)
posting comfy
Banished is comfy AF, as is the first section of Titan Quest. And the southwest portion of Oblivion is unbelievably comfy. Just outside Anvil in the evening, just before the sun bows its head under the horizon, the rolling hills shining pink and golden, the sleeping sea south of the hero of kvatch

>>339773321
comfy is a short word for comfortable.
Why is there always someone in these threads who gets triggered by "comfy" of all things? Holy shit, it means exactly what the word has always meant.

does building a dock-city like that exclude building on land normally? and I take it that setup isn't just one big prefab, you can place individual buildings, right?

>Crop is Watermelon
>>339770849
Naval Action is pretty comfy, posted a screen in the last thread too. This shot isnt too comfy cause its a big battle but the battles are so slow they too are chill.
Only downside is unless you really like open ocean traveling becomes super boring. Though I usually am having a smoke and have something up on my other monitor while I do so.
>>339774952
And besides, comfy is subjective. So if you think Dead Space is comfy so be it.
Recentlypiratedthis and am enjoying it. Basically a dumbed down Dwarf Fortress in space but the UI is eons better so I can enjoy it for what it is.
Pretty comfy to play late at night.
>>339776891
I just looked this up and it looks legendarily comfy - how forgiving for noobs is it?
>>339777514
No, you're retarded.
>>339778574
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZVOIxcSxY8
>>339778643
Be wary the population is shit. I play on EU pvp server cause it has the most people.
It's pretty forgiving for noobs. The beginning ships are simple and no need to use manual sailing. You start in a relatively safe area with friendly NPC patrols but it also depends what Nation you pick as some are completely buttfucked. There is a pretty long grind so dont expect to get any big ships in the near future. The starter ship can be bought infinite amount of times for free.
Can try to answer more specific questions if you want.
>>339778920
tfw all I want from the future games is a bigger traverse town
probably not gonna happen though, gotta make space for all that nu disney

I played that a couple years ago after someone started a thread proposing a new /v/ settlement.

I wish i could just noclip around during peak hours and watch people do stuff.
>>339779459

>>339778574
>>339779605
holy fuck
i remember playing kingdom hearts with my sister. we'd spend so much time in traverse town just wandering. i would always play the in-between ship missions and then we'd take turns outside of that.
>>339776435
You can place individual buildings and can build stuff on land. Just need to make sure dock pieces connect onto land and don't end in stairs. There is a lot this mod has to off and I am making a normal quay walled town that will be surrounded by these Ghetto swamp towns and farms
>>339781002
There's regular missions where you generally fight 1 or 2 ships. There's crafting to make ships/parts. Fleet battles which are AI missions but group vs group. Open ocean PVP which can sometimes be awesome or just a gankfest. Open ocean NPC traders you can capture/pillage. PVP "lobbies" where you join a queue in a port to do pvp battles. And Trading from port to port, some ports produce things and some ports need those things. Port battles where factions take over another Nation's port, but I've never done that yet.
I think that's everything. It can all be fun or mindbogglingly boring. Today for instance I collected an asston of materials so my friend could build me a ship and cause I didnt plan properly I had to make 2 30+ minute trips cause I forgot 1 material.
>>339780360
>>339780360

>>339781529
>>339781002
oh and another friend who was doing the same thing got ganked and lost a ton of money/materials cause pirates showed up while he was afk sailing. But there are PVE servers too if thats your thing. Dunno what their ruleset is exactly.
>>339770849
Crysis was comfy as shit.
Gonna be dumping more screenshots.
>>339781529
Is it potentially comparable to eve online? I mean the economy mostly being driven by the players and a non pvp playstyle being available
>>339782148
Ive heard people call it eve online but with boats. The combat is more actiony than eve, meaning you actually control the ship/sails/guns and dont just choose attack or something. And I can't speak much for the economy as I dont like trading/crafting but Im pretty sure you dont manually set the prices for things unless you are selling a boat. I think it works like a port that produces hemp wont pay shit if you sell them hemp, but a port that need hemp will pay a ton for you to sell it. And if you buy hemp from the port that needs it its super expensive. And theres a limited supply of hemp that is produced by the ports per day. And you can make plantations or some shit that produce hemp/materials. I think thats how it works but you should look it up or something.
Overlord 1is one of the comfiest games I've played.

Can someone recommend me comfy citybuilders/RTS games?
Multiplayer city builders too if they exist...is SimCity better since release?

>>339784110
Halo, especially 3 or ODST. Borderlands 1 too a bit.
>>339784065
Should have kept within the initial type. Did you play Dungeons 2, they mixed RTS and Dungeon Keeper really well.
>>339784212
Anno 1404 with custom maps, CivCity Rome is extra comfy also and the usual Banished if you want some massive [spoilers]death, famine and misery[/spoilers] added into the comfiness.

Skylines is a fine place to start.
Is Banished a good game that is comfy and that iscasual? I'm looking for a game I could just chill on.

Halo 2 is for Vista and up. Also get an xbone, there loads of comy games like Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, they're not deep and innovative but the atmosphere is nice and they're not boring stuff. Also the Masterchief Collective is great.
>>339785659
jrpg games are usually too story driven to be comfy. At least until later in the games when they open up.

Go to /gsg/ and download CK2 and all the DLC from the mega.
Load it up and play as the ruler of SviÞod in 867.
Norse pagans are stupidly OP, so you could probably conquer all that in 100 years max.Marry a lustful woman and take 3 lustful concubines, while trying to get lustful yourself and have like 15 sons fight for the empire.
>>339786871
how does one become lustful?
THIS. This is the comfiest JRPG!

I love Balamb Town
>>339786573
It's a fun game but once you fully immerse yourself in it you realize it's a bit shallow, which isn't surprising since they tried to make it more approachable than their other games but sacrificed depth to do so. Once you reach midgame the only thing to do is blob and blob some more.

>>339786946
Essentially, get lucky. There are ways to tip the odds in your favor though.
Take seduction focus and seduce every woman you possibly can, take hunting focus and hope you get the horny cabin woman event, become possessed, have Asmodeus turn you lustful. You can also make a custom ruler that starts with lustful.
Anyone else looking forward to the endless Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon clones now that Stardew Valley was successful?
I sure am.
Give me an Animal Crossing game on PC any day. Rainy weather outside all week too.
>>339787209
hmm interesting.
so do i basically pause the game, do all the shit i need to do, then unpause and wait for things to happen? i'm used to total war or civ or straight up RTS'. this pausing the real time then letting it go shit flusters me greatly
>>339787264
Is it worth downloading Animal Crossing GC for emulator and playing with a pad or sticking with New Leaf?
>>339784403
It takes like 20 minutes to figure out what you need to prioritize in, but once you get the hang of it then it's pretty fun.
Play on Medium and fair weather and you should be good.
>>339786551
That's why you start as an Irish duke. You have a clear goal: unite Ireland. You learn to make marriages that get you land/claims, how to assassinate people that get in the way of inheritances, how to wage war on a scale that won't overwhelm you.
Once you unite Ireland, you should have a good grasp of how to play the game, and then you make your own goal.
To get rich, there's a couple of hints. Focus on increasing castle infrastructure tech so you can upgrade castle towns (the main demense income generator for feudal rulers). Make sure your vassals like you so that they pay their full taxes (doubly so for Catholic bishops; if they like the Pope more than you, you get nothing). Have plenty of cities in your demense holdings, since cities make mad dosh.
If you really want to roll in gold, give a mayor a coastal county, then give him a duchy. He'll become a merchant republic, and merchant republics literally shit gold.
Once you have lots of money, you can upgrade the levy boosting buildings in your castles.
>>339787668
well hey alright thanks man
>>339787376
You can do that, or you can play the game on medium speed and react to things as they happen.
Max speed is for waiting in between things that require intense focus, ie war.
When you're in a major war, you should probably put the speed at 1 or 2 so you can react without constantly pausing.
>>339787147
I love the fact that I can (eventually) get and customize both a base and the baller ship.
Shame that at the end they give that amazing ship to the lame-ass prince fuck and go out on a shitty wooden boat.
>>339787376

You'll need mercenaries at the start, even if you do play on the irish island.
Also, I wouldn't recommend playing with the latest DLC - Conclave because it makes the game insufferable since your council is always shit, doesn't want to cooperate and pretty much makes half of the game revolve around your fucking council since they get to vote on everything you do.

>>339806802
Yeah. I love it. If you can focus a bit and not try to level every skill at once, you can probably reduce grinding some. But there is certainly grinding. Just a lot of slaying pigs or right-clicking mushrooms or whatever.
It's not a race to the finish though so that's why I love it. Being a low level is fun and exploration is rewarded. Whenever I feel stuck in progress, I just go level a tradeskill or something, and I end up finding something to help me along. Community's chill as fuck but gets mad if you ask too many questions.

Once you get double jump and wall climb in the first 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much time you explore, the game becomes pretty simple.

but don't get me wrong I love it overall, the visuals and audio in particular, but the gameplay is also great, especially when you unlock that ability which lets you latch onto projectiles and stuff
I have yet to play a game more comfy than this.
>>339822479
I've only played about two or three hours. I did get those powerups but the problem is before you get them it just feels like you're in a world designed for something bigger than you. Even after getting them it feels a bit like that.
There was this one part with a wall jumping challenge where you had to do three wall jumps between spikes. I spent ages throwing myself at it because I knew I could do it, the wall jumping was slippery but it wasn't impossible and I did get up there in the end. Obviously though it's much easier with the double jump and you're not really supposed to attempt it without it.
It's probably my fault for being stubborn but I feel like if you're supposed to have an ability to do something then it should be impossible without it. They shouldn't have let me think it was possible and it certainly shouldn't have been possible.
That's just one big nitpick though I guess. There are things I just straight up dislike like the way you attack, i's really unengaging.

If you want a comfy game get 80 Days from the humble bundle.
For a game that's nearly entirely text based it's super comfy. No stress, just travelling around the world getting into all sorts of situations.

>>339823474
That's something I think the game did very well but doesn't fit into the threads comfy theme at all. There are tons of areas you can get into before you have the abilities to navigate easily. If you complete them you get significant boosts and have an easier time down the road going the intended path.
Old RPGs you could grind endlessly to be overleveled for the next area and Ori you can complete a very challenging section without the aid of a skill to make it easier to overlevel like that.

Is it really true that 1fm and 2fm have patches on pc to make them play at 60fps in emulation? Was going to go with 1.5 on my ps3 until someone mentioned something about this recently.
I got tired of waiting for the river jew to bring me stone/iron before I could finish my mountain men village (which was expected to be my only one aside from trying a lowpop village with only eight or so homes).
I reinstalled with colonial charter for comfy and riverside, but I absolutely can not not preplan the fuck out of the village for maximum final density (small mountains), and that just takes way too much effort to even get started beyond rolling seeds and making a general plan.
How do I stop giving a shit and just play like a retard until I'm in the later stages and can mass demolish and rezone?

For those of you that are trying to get the mountain me achievement, I just finished getting it myself. Took me 59 years because of the massive death count of year 19 and stone shortage.
The seed I used was 829557893, you start off near 3 forests large enough to make hunter/forester/gather clusters, and a river with 2 bends for maximum fishing potential on the other side.
>>339770849
Okay, so how do I stop my inma- I mean villagers from starving? I had 4 people die already despite having stockpiled food. They would just do their work until they died, with the little starving sign over their heads
>>339832563
You can't make farms that early, they are grossly inefficient early on. You want to make forest clusters in the beginning.
1 Gather's hut
1 Forester's Lodge
1 Hunter's Cabin
2-4 Houses (at least 2 should be stone)
Have the forester only plant trees at the beginning, once they circle is full of full grown trees you can have the cut and plant. You only need 2 workers in there early on.
Create a dirt road running between this cluster of buildings and have it head back towards the main town.
Can we get some comfy vidya music too?

Why can't we just have a game where we fight best koreans in a nanosuit? It was great up until the alien bullshit
>>339835339

the game was a perfect 10/10 until ayyy lmaos showed up
>>339806996
>Seconding this. I don't think $30 is a reasonable price for a game in Alpha.
If you don't think $30 is a reasonable price for a game in Alpha, then don't buy it.
Using that as an excuse to pirate is fucking laughable.
Eufloria was comfy.
I also liked the gameplay a lot, too bad theres nothing like it.
>>339835674
>don't buy it.
That was the plan, anon.
>>339809607
I see loss
>>339817741
>tfw all i want is a comfy sailing game where you can land on small islands, trade shit with people and explore etc.
>>339826987
Fuck, now I'm gonna have to replay Jak and Daxter.
>>339835851
Forgot my image cause I'm a dumbfuck.
>>339828469
Outerwilds is such a gem of a game, i'd fucking love to see that concept picked up by a good sized team with a bunch of funding.
Posting GOAT Crysis song
>tfw ywn look out on the horizon of that small village ever again

Just replayed it 2 days ago, still great.
Easily one of my favorite games.
>>339836106
I have no idea what's going on with it anymore. Development is going at a snail's pace. The recent demo actually had less content than the older demo.
It took them months to update their website after they won the best game award at the IGF.
>get Harvest Moon thinking that it will be comfy
>soon enough errands errands errands
>time is literally of the essence
>no time to lose, must always perform as fast as I can
>spend my whole existence running around to get money to make my house bigger and get a baby and all that
>dad comes back and calls me a faggot for not being fast/better enough
>mfw
>>339837834

>>339837895

>>339798936
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
>>339838175
Was that the one with the lewd mods?
>there will never be a Total War/Sim City/Age of Empires/Civilization match up
>you will never plan your medieval city street by street, farm by farm, while your armies and walls hold off the waves of barbarians and enemies
Why live?

Is this game worth a reinstall?
Would you live here?
Are commieblocks comfy?
>>339838553
Shady Valley, and I would get a job on a shift that I could sleep when the sun wasn't reaching my house so I could live as a vampire.
>>339838541
If you want a 'medieval' city builder there's Ceasar/Zeus.
>>339838756
The comfiest
>>339838779There's only one house in shady valley. The mayors.
>>339838756
That must be disgusting to live in, how tall are those buildings?
>>339838870
Then I will be the mayor, and never make public appearance during sunlight hours.
>>339810265
God damn it
>>339838756
Commieblocks are anti-comfy
>>339838553
>>339838665
My other city. Also comfy provided you don't live in THAT district.
>>339778574
>>339778920

top kek
>>339839154
>>339839248
Neat, I wish I could get my cities to look like this. Most of mine end up to be traffic hell or broke from being over ambitious in the early stages of city planning.
>>339820752
wow someone else actually played this
>>339839969
Just start small and evict when necessary. It helps to only try and tackle one issue at a time. The starfish commercial section and the spaghetti bowl highway cross were both clusterfucks when I first implemented them into my city, but over several iterations and trial en error I got them working within acceptable parameters. A lot of times it's just about giving people viable alternatives.
>>339840419
What game is that?
>>339823643
Oh, seems nice, tell me more.
What kind of choices can you make? What kind of situations do you get into?

Cities Skyline

Still brings me back, you spend so much time in the Barrens as Horde you became really intimate with where everything was
>>339838529
probably
>>339819603
I had no idea I'd find a game like that so comfy.
>Stealth your way to a good vantage point
>line up your shot perfectly
>hold your breath
>loud noise goes off
>pull trigger
>slo-mo killcam
>change trousers
>>339840838
Did someone mention [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
Any good game with Trains
>>339811552
>Morrowind
I wheeze like an asthmatic faggot when I sleep in modly environements
The fact some fucking dunmers like to live in gigantic carved mushroom amaze me.
Sadrith Mora looks comfy as fuck
>>339841416
Factorio
The vanilla trains are top notch but you can add in more train mods and make the game a train fest
>>339838665
nigga your city looks like a Star Wars Podracer circuit
>>339841374
Not nostalgia enough. no one had it yet so you couldn't even link it when the Chuck Norris jokes were rampant.
>>339819739
this, man, remembering it now, just gives me a funny feeling, really loved that game, probably one of my most played games, well, emulation here i come
>comfy thread got all the way to bump limit
