I spent $60 on Diablo III, and I got bored of it in about 40 hours. Because of that, I don't to pay Blizzard money to fix it and make it the complete experience it should have been.

Path of exile is diablo 2 pretty much without attributes to weapons that do 5 percent of damage to undeads.
Poe is literally d2 with a couple new ideas and it is starting to show as one of the greatest arpgs ever created.

This is probably the shortest I've enjoyed a season. Got bored after about 10 days. As soon as you get all the gear you need for your desired build and it becomes about levelling up gem, grinding paragon levels and farming for ancients, shit just becomes incredibly dull.

Tbh the thing that always pisses me off in POE is when you shoot an arrow, you can see it get stuck in the enemy but they don't take damage. Shit just feels off when that kind of stuff happens. Not saying D3 never lags or anything but on average it does feel more responsive.
Maybe it seems nitpicky but when the majority of the game is running around killing shit it's pretty important that killing shit feels good.

It is basically an mmoarpg. Other people patrol the zones with you. There are instances (terminals) and raids. There are challenge zones which are basically boss rush modes, in which you complete a neverending cycle of killing bosses with other people in the zone with you. There are team-ups which are basically like Daiblo' mercenaries, but they're heroes. There are tons of different characters all with different playstyles, altohough they all also have very similar skills. It is very easy to get uniques once you hit max level, and it only takes about a week or two of playing to get there if you play casually.
Also, it is the Marvel universe. X-Men, Avengers, Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.
Everything can be gotten free from grinding for eternity shards, except for some costumes I think. There's a timed Civil War event going on right now, it ends friday. Try it, it's free, it's on steam.

All Ascendancy does is make you stronger than before. If you pretend it doesn't exist, you can have a character just as strong as pre-Ascendancy, running maps all the way up into red-tier maps like before.
Ascendancy just improves that ability. Or, yo never know, you might find an unintended use for one of the classes' ascendancy oaths that benefits your weird class/build combination. That's the joy of PoE: not being limited to a small subset of abilities because of your class choice. Your skills are determined by YOU, not the character you chose.
I leveled to Paragon 600, got my seasonal rewards and got bored (and Overwatch came out) because none of my friends who play Diablo played at all this season, and the clan I'm in is dead.
