Shit is so good that I began learning nipponese just to play the 3DS remakes seeing as there so far isn't a fan translation in the works or a localization announcement.

DQ Monsters is probably the third most popular DQ game in the west after V and VIII. And how a lot of people got into the series.
You want a hidden gem few people have played. Try something like Balloon Kid or Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting.

this is one of the most underated survival horror games on the ps1, i've never watched the show, but the lack of music, dark atmosphere and enemies lurking in the shadows makes it really good and almost no videos of it on youtube-
