A theory I had that I never see anyone bring up is that this Goku, whether he's from Champa's new wished earth's future or the universe 7's future, is actually in his 70s or 80s and has just lost his mind.
Goku at one point in the series mentions how Vegeta said their bodies stay in their prime well into their 80s. Vegeta responds with something along the lines of, "Yes, but only our bodies."
It gives me the impression that Goku keeps getting stronger, but at some point, has some sort of mental disease or breakdown that leads him into either reverting back to his original, more primal saiyan mind or just going nuts, somehow.

He and his editor forgot she existed while drawing scenes during the entirety of the saiyan and freeza arcs. When they finally realized they had accidentally written the whole character off the show, since the series had by that point become more widely distributed internationally and Goku was now turning into a blonde, he decided to just forget about her, because her turning blonde was "too confusing."
Her final real scene in the anime was her wasted in a bar, intensely depressed over the death of Tien, awaiting death. She's been given a few background shots here and there since, but always as the nice, purple haired Launch. The blonde variant has never been seen since.
Fun side story, but prior to Super, Toriyama said Launch's story ends with Tien giving up fighting to be a farmer. Launch finds him, tries to get involved with him finally, but he has no interest. She accepts it, tries to also give up crime to be a farmer, but gets frustrated that she can't do it, and leaves forever. So her big finale is being rejected by the only person she ever loved, trying to love him anyway, but realizing how broken she was, and so accepting that and spending the rest of her life alone, running as a criminal.
