It happened once, it can happen again. A hero of a thousand will pull through to us and make it possible.
Meanwhile, buy the games you really want. Don't pay for anything questionable.

Business and consumers have a symbiotic relationship. The business creates products the consumer enjoy / find useful, the consumer pays money to the business. They have the duty to care for each other.
Of course they don't care for you. They only care about your money. In the same way you don't care about them; you care about the products they create.

But The Witcher 3 came out without DRM and has been much more succesful than any Denuvo game.
In fact, not a single Denuvo game has surpassed 1 million copies, and among it, there's gigantic bombs like Homefront The Revolution or Far Cry Primal, which sold 1/5th of what FC4 did.
>>
>>339678036
>In the same way you don't care about them; you care about the products they create.
Exactly, I care about playing the games, that's why I pirate them.
No reason to buy them.

Are we only talking about PC sales? MGSV and Battlefront definitely sold over 1 million copies.

I can agree on this. As a legitimate consumer I hate the fact mods and other things are not feasible because of something I'm not a part of.

Modding has always been one of the big strengths of PC gaming.

Denuvo doesn't help the sales of any game.
Marketing does.
>>
A good thing about Denuvo is that both we and the developers have real sales data for PC gamers.

I ended buying Lords of the Fallen a year after it was released because a. it was on sale and b. no crack (that was two months before the game was actually cracked).

Most average consumers are not even aware a game has Denuvo or even what it is before buying them. I honestly don't see how it affects sales either way.

Games that have sold more than any Denuvo game.

The Witcher 3

Borderlands franchise.

Far Cry 3, this one is funny too because it sold almost 20 times more than Far Cry Primal, which uses Denuvo.

I wonder fucking why
>>
>>339679614
>>339679906
>>339679980
That's what i'm saying.
Denuvo doesn't affect sales, it's not going to improve or fuck them over, marketing does, and also how the port is.
Piracy is not going to change anything, because pirates will either end up buying the game anyway, or will pirate even $1 games.
>>
>>339679892

>Games that have sold more than any Denuvo game.

How does that prove your point?
>>
>>339679892
>Listing games that have been on sale for years, even as part of humble bundles

Ayyyyyyyy

Fucking Fallout 3 was released eight years ago.
>>
>>339680027
The fact that piracy didn't kill even the game that was marketed as ''PIRATE IT IF YOU WANT TO''.
>>
>>339680017
sorry no proof of this the quality of almost all Denuvo games are low, with a few exceptions like DOOM that just came out and is at 500K currently
also say it doesn't affect one thing at all, why should companies make room for special snowflakes who think they are entitled to free shit? go back to tumblr
>>
>>339680108
The Witcher series is insanely popular with the PC crowd.
I'm sure it would sell the same if it had Denuvo.
>>
>>339680251
That only proves what i'm saying even more.
Good games will sell, shit games will sell like shit, regardless of piracy, and piracy won't change a thing in sales.
Market your game hard enough, don't make it a shitty port and it'll sell like hotcakes.

>why should companies make room for special snowflakes who think they are entitled to free shit
I feel entitled to mods.
>>
>>339680017
>being this retarded
so you think companies shouldn't do it because it probably doesn't affect them either way and people should just steal what they want? Im glad Denuvo pushed you fags into a crying corner
>>
>>339680374
And that would only prove what i'm saying more.
Denuvo isn't affecting the sales of anything.
They are not improving, they are not getting worse.

>>339680419
I'm saying they should stop wasting their money and getting rid of my ability to mod games properly, yes.
>>
>>339679678
>Can't take serial keys from the shops anymore. They are all in protective cases.

>>
>>339680514

>>
>>339680383
except you have no data that tracks this at all
nearl all the games under devuno except DOOM, total warhammer, and hitman are fucking shit for one reason or another.
Hitman being episodic and poorly optimised murdered it's sales
DOOM will easily make over 1m
Total Warhammer is more niche and probably will do good for the series
but if you are proving a point that Devuno does nothing but stop entitled idiots, then it is a good thing
>>
>>339680514

Or that they spend their day saying
>Huurrr, these pirates that won't buy these games anyway, i'm going to get at them by spending money, even though earning money is the only reason i'm doing this...

>>339681271

For one playthrough (played as a warrior). 28 hours, no regrets. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for them.
>>
>>339680683
Im saying there's no """evidence""" either way that you have presented

unless there is a clear track of game sales, Borderlands 3, as an example, to have this DRM and it's game sales on steam take a massive hit, growth, or nothing. then you have no """proof""" to even state a neutral claim, because every single game with the DRM is a reboot, low selling game

When you say that all these games are under 1M btw, that's not shocking since most steam games are under that.

you aren't bringing anything to this arguement other than being an entitled child about it

You can't force pirates to convert into paying customers, they will only do so willingly. Every argument about piracy ends here, since this is ultimately something that is only inflating budgets for no payoff.

What companies think is going to happen

>Doom comes out
>I can't Pirate Doom
>I'll go buy Doom

What actually happens

>Doom comes out
>I'm slightly interested
>I can't pirate it
>I don't buy Doom
>Years pass and maybe I get it for 10$ at a sale
>Years pass and maybe it gets cracked and I play it

Seriously so far it's these games :

Mirror's Edge Catalyst
Total War: Warhammer
Homefront: The Revolution
DOOM
The Climb
ADR1FT
Need for Speed
Hitman
Far Cry Primal
Unravel
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Just Cause 3
Star Wars Battlefront
Anno 2205
FIFA 16
Mad Max
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Batman: Arkham Knight
Dragon Age: Inquisition

DA: I, Fifa 16 and Anno 2205 seem to be cracked as far as I can tell.

I was interested in Doom, Far Cry Primal, Just Cause 3 and Total War Warhammer

But not interested enough to give 50$ or more...

So like I said they think they're going to get money, what they're probably seeing is the same sales projections as ever with maybe a few thousand guys that did go buy it because they can't pirate.
>>
>>339684453
No, that anon, probably you, is just refusing to do anything because he's baby-mad because someone who can afford videogames doesn't like Denuvo.

>>
>>339678036
Anon that's not totally true. I think there are people that get attached to certain companies that consistently release products they like and get a feeling of loyalty to them. Aka I see people talking about sonybronies, nintendotoddlers, etc.

>>
>>339684594
nah m8 because i don't give a shit. you probably own the game, that still makes you wrong. piracy is immoral and i feel nothing against companies who want to stomp it out.
>companies dont care about you
i don't care about them, they want my money, i want their games. it's a business transaction, they aren't meant to care about you.

>inb4 crying about mods
Modding is a shitty gimmick for shitty games
every game that requires a mod is shit at it's core and is asking it's players to make it better. Steam refund fixed the modding problem on steam
There is not a single game worth playing if mods are needed to enjoy it. Skyrim is shit and Doom 2 is perfect on it's own
>>
>>339685021
But my feelings aren't related to piracy, but to the fact that it prevents modding.

>>
>>339685021
Sometimes, mods don't really "fix" games, just make people feel better about their idiosyncrasies.
For example: The Witcher 1 didn't allow Geralt to walk. He only had one speed: run. That's technically fine, but there's more than one scene where you have to walk with an NPC or group of NPCs somewhere while having a conversation. It completely makes the game retarded to have to do a run-stop-run-stop-run-stop thing. Sure, I can get the right speed by walking BACKWARDS but that's fucking retarded.

Solution: download a walk mod.

Well in the last 30 days I got Overwatch, Stellaris, FFXIV sub, Bitcher 3 Blood and Wine and Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus PC version.

But I really have no need to prove how rich or not I am. It's that these Denuvo games don't interest me.

Total War is a great example. It used to be this fresh new series that did all the things right.

Now they've become a fucking shitfest. What I always end up doing is playing the MAP part of the game and auto resolving the battles because it takes forever to load into a battle and then it takes forever to actually battle.

THE MAIN PART OF THE GAME IS BATTLES.

Yet I end up playing it like a simplistic babies first Grand Strategy... No thanks.

Fact is theres tons of games I want to try for 2~5 hours and never touch them. Total war is one of these games.

Just Cause 3 is also one of these games.

But the fact is I'm not interested enough in them to actually spend money because I know my playtime will be sub 50 hours.

It's not really about being uncrackable though, it's about not making it worth the time to crack.

There is probably a shitton of latent unique spaghetti code and backup checks that Denuvo puts into an executable that is just an absolute bitch to deal with.

Denuvo is constantly encrypting and decrypting parts of itself right? That would make it really hard to tell what parts are Denuvo and what parts are the executable. Thats probably why we've only seen maybe a bypass and not the actual removal of Denuvo.

Different anon
But TW Warhammer is doing pretty well despite being a mostly single player focus game, with Denuvo.
It been stay consistantly around 3rd place on steam player base so far.

Regardless of whether you think the game is good or shit, it still become the highest rating and best selling total war game.
This argument do ties in with another anon in his thread talking about the quality of the game impact the most for sale, which I agree. But we still don't have the precise measure of Denuvo on game sale, since it not like we can compare the exact same game with the same condition to see whether or not Denuvo actually have a positive or negative effect on game sale.

It's literally not a big deal. No one has to have everything that has ever been released, it's a weird consumerist idea that doesn't even benefit the consumer.

Games have not advanced. You can look at almost any new release today and find that it is an inferior version of something from the past.

The only things today that are actually pushing boundaries are free fan made games and mods to cheap ass games like minecraft etc.
>>

You can still do what you want with it, you bought it with Denuvo so you know what your options were. You are free to try.

You don't need to try before you buy when there is an army of screaming youtubers who will rush through the entire game the moment it hits the shelves. If thats not enough then people will be streaming the game through steam. If thats still not enough you can do a refund before 2 hours.

Nothing wrong with pirates buying. If pirates wouldn't have bought the game anyway then nothing lost so who cares, but they'll buy it anyway if they like the game.
