Will Monster Hunter ever leave the 3ds? I loved 3U on the Wii U but I can't stomach 4U on the 3ds, NX better be a handheld.

MH4U is my first MH and have an almost complete Guild Card. Should I pick MH3U on WiiU ? It's on Capcom's spring sale. What should I expect? Can I complete the game by myself? How about DLC?
