The Nintendo fandom has been an ongoing cycle of failed attempts at "alliances" with other fandoms. First there was "Wii60" to defeat the PS3, then there was "PSWii" to defeat the the Xbox One, and now it's "PWii." They are like a parasite that keeps looking for a new host when their previous one finds them nipping at their arm and flicks them off. Someone made an illustration of this phenomena but I can't find it.
Basically, Nintendo isn't popular anymore, and they keep trying to make friends with "the cool" console's fandom. The Nintendo fandom is getting increasingly lonely, and they're kind of desperate to find a friend. Sad.
