its not worth grinding for mmr itself below 3k, id say even below 4k isnt worth it. And to be honest even at 4k grind isnt any better. Rubick hit him with telekinesis a bunch which doesn't slow.

You know I was crazy excited for DD to come to pc since it looks like it would be the perfect game for me. Got it on launch and played on the hardest difficulty available. I'm usually up for a challenge but this shit was insane and it kind of ruined the game for me. Only got like 6 hours in before dropping it. How bad are you at games? Just go strider or assassin and stab everything tough to death. Sorcerer pawn with upgrade rings for fast cast spells and this game is easy.
There's also stackable items to enhance your magic or strength, allowing you to blow anything in the game away on the highest difficulty.
Worst case, grab some good pawns and run around reviving them until they've killed what was bothering you. If you're STILL having trouble, get a rusten off-weapon and upgrade it to the max, it'll cause torpor on whatever you hit.

Hard Mode was added after the initial release to placate people who had beaten the game once and wanted something with a bit more heft.
Normal mode is the main game since not only does everything hit like nuclear powered trucks at lv1 in hard, but it also screws with your gold and job point growth.

What you CAN do is hide in closets, jump over ledges (the killer can do it too, but much slower, so it's not recommended), drop obstacles which forces the killer to go around or destroy it. Can even land on top of him to slow him down for a bit.
The survivors get gear that can help though. Medpacks for example. Or a flashlight. If a survivor shines it on the killer while he's carrying someone he'll get blinded and drop the suvivor he's carrying.

It's easily one of the best games of last gen,in my opinion. You should definitely give it another shot.
That being said, I think hard mode should be reserved for when you've played the game for so long that you need the bullshit-tier difficulty to keep things interesting. I have well over 1000+ hours in Dark Arisen on 360, and I now play exclusively on hard mode.

Honest question: why did you play for so long? I really like the game too, but once I had done fresh playthroughs as a physical, magic, and bowguy character and beaten Daimon's true form I couldn't really think of anything else to do. The game doesn't have a lot of emergent stuff and the world is pretty small, so I didn't really see any reason to keep playing.
