skyrim was an absolute disaster for real fans of the series, and fans of roleplay gaming in general, one of the leading roleplaying series was essentially turned into an action/adventure game, with no choices
unfortunately, due to its financial success, this will become the norm for roleplaying games in future, and its safe to say that the elder scrolls series is officially dead to actual roleplayers
But ESO after the update is fucking amazing. Maybe even better than Skyrim. it's very different gameplay wise from the rest but it has great characters, stories, music, etc.
