Have the badguys crying like an anime fan at prom night

After playing through the entire game, I can safely say that /v/ was wrong yet again.
Not that I'm surprised. After it comes out, you faggots will either keep spouting the same memes or act as if you've been saying it was good all along.

No replies, huh? Yup, that's what I thought. Cucks.
>>339603105
The game is bland and mediocre and the only fun ability to use is no.4 plus it's short as fuck I beat all the mighty numbers and the final stages in about 3 hours and I was taking my sweet ass time too no rush

Welcome to every Mega Man game ever.
>>339603105
I agree, dashing 95% of the time is soooo funnnn ^_^

Shovel Knight had longer stages, better, and more stages than MN9. There's really no excuse for the game being as short and bland as is it is, especially when the game is being made by "Megaman veterans".

Shovel Knight has nothing to do with Mega Man other than the fact that the bosses' names follow a certain pattern and the protagonist is blue.
Fuck, you don't even gain weapons from bosses.

See?
What was "good" about the game then?

>Doesn't follow all megaman tropes so isn't a megaman clone
>yet gameplay still heavily inspired by the series

Better to tell you what I disliked about it:
>Some of the english VA
>No boss rematches at the end
>Some models look ugly up close
>A bit short (though the extra content makes up for it)
>Beck's character is a bit shallow
>Call stays on I.AM.A.ROBOT mode for the whole game
What I really liked:
>Transformations are fun and all of them are useful (also, they remind me of ZX)
>Stages look pretty good (I know, crazy, right?)
>Most of the english VA, all of the jap VA
>Most of the music
>Bosses are actual characters
>NG+ is hard as balls
Everything else is just what I expected from a Mega Man game.

>>Transformations are fun and all of them are useful (also, they remind me of ZX)
Only 3 of them are particularly useful. No. 1's is good crowd control, No. 5's is good for picking off enemies from a distance, and No. 7's is just straight up broken. No. 6's gives you better air control but you only need it in one particular segment of the game, and No. 4's is nigh useless in a non-speedrun.
>>Stages look pretty good (I know, crazy, right?)
The stages themselves hardly ever develop their own gimmicks well. For instance, Robot Factory makes it seem like it's going to test your skills with each of the transformations, but you only ever need to use 3 of them. No. 4's stage doesn't introduce the giant drill things until near the very end of the level. No. 8's stage is just sad. Etc. They aren't terrible stages, but they aren't great either.
>>Bosses are actual characters
Most of them are just stereotypes, but this is hardly a game ruining issue.

Am I missing something?
