Has a video game ever made you cry, /v/?
Undertale
He was the best
Mass Effect 3 but not in a good way.
When you spend half a decade on that shit and they fuck you over this much you cant help but shed a manly tear. Mass Effect 3 also killed my joy for gaming in general

My sister cried because she couldn't beat Demyx in KH2 after like 7 attempts, and I beat it in 2 tries. Then she never touched the game again.

I am not going to lie. Back in the GC days when saw Shadow "die" in SA2 I shed some tears.
That's about the only time I think.
Then I hated SEGA for bringing him back out of nowhere and ruining his heroic sacrifice.
You're a bunch of fags.

From all PS2 jrpgs i have played Persona 4 and Tales of the Abyss will always have a special place in my heart

>>339595234
I never played Mass Effect 3, but this.
I bought a ps3 around late 2011 after playing Gamecube and Ps2 since their launch.
I think the 360/ps3 generation broke me.
I had a 360 early on but split with my then girlfriend and she kept it. The 360 at the early stages looked really promising.
Jumping back into modern gaming at 2011 onwards, I've just lost interest.
My niche tastes are slowly dying off in the industry, but since there's a new generation of people playing garbage and buying more, it's not going to really change.
It's been nice I guess. I play a few solid gems now and then. (Bayonetta 2 made me feel really excited and gave me a tiny spec of hope. It felt like when I first had a Dreamcast and how arcadey and fun and wonderful that was).
I hardly spend any money on video games anymore.
I just read or watch anime.
Fuck the fact that game development swung around to mainly western studios. Everything is muddy, sludgey garbage. It broke me.
Yes but i get emotional very easily.
I'll even cry if i'm watching something really amazing just at how good it is, doesn't even have to be sad.
>>339599539
Nice blog, you fucking vagina.
Not even going to read your tl;dr bullshit.
>>339595013
I was a depressed teenager with no friends when I played them, but mainly only Snes JRPGS.
-Terranigma
-Chrono Trigger
-FF6 when I think about Shadow and his family, and the thought you could leave him behind.
Shadow of the Colossus always puts a knot in my throat. The scene where Agro plumets, it's so bleak.
It's mainly in how Wander, through his body language has given up. He's going to see the task through, or die trying.
It's how he throws himself and smashes into walls or the monsters, collapses, stumbles. It's someone with no regard for their own well-being who lost everything. The game did a great job of bringing that across in his movements.
It's sad.
>crying
no, but they have made me feel.
>>339599539
simple. dont play shitty games then, idiot.
>OH NO ALL THE HAMBURGERS ARE RUINED BUT ONE WHAT EVER SHALL I EAT?
Of course not.A lawyer only cries when it's all over.
>>339599809
So, no one cares WHAT exactly it was that made them upset?
I've been on and off on here since 2005. I thought it was bad a few years back, but this is easily the worst I've seen /v/
I feel sorry for you. You'll never know what it's like not to be a cunt swimming around in toxic filth with other pigs, and never know what it's like to appreciate and play good games. This is exactly what I needed to hear to finally leave this place. Thank you.
Enjoy Overwatch.
I was not expecting something like this.
It was just beautiful.
you cunts can say what you want, it felt like a good friend has jut passed awayhe had just gotten his family back and wanted to be a simple farmer for the rest of his days, but they still came after him

>>339600839
goddamit anon, stop giving me these feels.
one thing that still bugs me thoughthe same guy voice acted both of them
Ghost Trick gave me some misty eyed happy tears at the end, but other than that not really.
Almost cried at the end of Witcher 3 when I thoughtthat Ciri was deadbut I didn't, and I wouldn't count that anyway since my attachment to those characters stems more from all the novels I read before playing it.
>>339600851
I think theres enough material already done in both industries to keep one going for a long time if they only start now - but "tolerating" old anime is much much easier than old games.
I'm personally done with anime, started watching like 13 years ago and havent regularly watched any in the last 2 years.
But if someone hadn't watched all the shit I had, he has years of anime before him before he gets tired of the endlessly reused tropes and gets to the "all new anime is the same" stage.

>having this low tolerance for posts that you don't care about
Where did you come from anon because redditors do have better tolerance and you certainly don't belong here.
Yes, but not really for the story. I'm gonna be honest, when Nanako died in persona 4 I cried. And in the same game after I beat it I cried, because I had fallen in love with some of the girls. It made me realize I'll never have friends, let alone friends like them. I'm starting to wonder whether I actually should've played it or not since I feel horrible after playing it I did enjoy it a lot though
I don't really cry out of sadness. I only really cry for happy moments in video games.

If youlosethe final battle, the Crimson Tear talks to the leader of the forces you are fighting and requests that rather than execute you for your atrocities, to seal you into the sword and rehabilitate you, implying that it will only be you and your beloved childhood friend for a very long period of time, potentially redeeming you for your actions.

>>339604765There's a really, really clean, if not a low-resolution, YouTube cutscene rip series that covers the entire story and even side-quests.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ijD5pe2_MgThough it honestly has really good gameplay. It's just really tricky to learn the base mechanics.
>>339604020
I dont remember a single sad thing happening in TLOU
The first time I cried while consuming media was reading I Kill Giants.
A game hasn't really made me cry, but they hit you right in the feels. I know the story is mostly a formality in SK:EV, I could at least identify with the girls wanting to spend more time with the people that passed on, because I probably wouldn't act much differently myself.
>>339600872
Are people here really this fucking retarded? Persona 4 was supposed to be much lighter in tone, it would change the entire tone of the game if Nanako died. ANd the main theme of Persona 3 is death, which is not the case for Persona 4
The witcher 3
I get overprotective of women regardless of their strength. Plus I couldn't handle seeing geralt upset when he saw ciri limp and lifeless.
>>339605054
Watching stuff on youtube is just not the same.
I hope maybe when I'm older my need for adrenaline fizzles out and I'll be able to get into these, this looks like a CRPG or something but then I can't even handle turn-based stuff.
Growing up on strictly action games and online multiplayer did not do well for my later taste in vidya - alas at the time I couldn't read english so I had no choice.

>>339607263Even with the line about the promise, it's not even set in stone that that Luke was in there at all. Asch made promises. Lorelei's pact could also be seen as a promise. It might even be both Asch and Luke's minds stuck together in one body, which, considering how long it took them to understand that they were separate people, would be absolutely fucked to hell. It's easiest to say it was just Luke but we'll never be absolutely certain.

I didn't cried for this one. I cried at the end.
Funnily enough, I barely spoke english at the time, so I didn'tunderstand the story all that well.
I basically got the concept of the guy wanting to be a hero, his friends getting fucked, the sad emo fucking things up, with the white emo going crazy at some point, and blond bro helping out, getting hurt, then you escaping, and then you losing your life so thag he could live
It's a testament to the quality of the game that it managed to make me cry and convey all the feelings eveb with such a strong language barrier.
