So how would you rebalance Gwent for PvP purposes?
I would start with setting a cap on number of heroes cards you can have in your deck and maybe change some of them so they arent hero cards anymore

I'd remove all heroes cards outright, especially Avalac'h, his card is literally "spend one card to get two.
Villentretenmerth is also completly broken with Biting frost against Monster Deck, since you can obliterate his entire hand with just those two.
Scoia'tael is even worse than monster, just a trash deck overall. Northern Kingdoms and Nilfgaard completly dominate due to spies and abilities that gets cards back.

You have to win more than one round, with the same deck.
Just dumping everything doesn't work, you'll lose the other two rounds.

But there is literally a card named "Eredin Bréacc Glas: The Treacherous" which is simply impossible. Geralt learns about his name and title during the last questline in the game, and nobody else in the entire universe knows it.

You can do some neat stuff with Scoia'tael if you know before hand what kind of deck your opponent has. Load up with medics for spies and weather cards, then use terrain swapping units. It's not optimal, but it can be a fun change of pace.
Monster is pretty much irredeemable. Frost destroys the whole deck, and even then you're only guaranteed to win one round at most.
