But that's false. The formations are already on by default, because turning on spearwall/tetsudo during deployment and never turning it off was pointless.

Considering they have 3 games planned, you will be waiting for a few years if you want to get EVERTHING at once.
For this version of the game, they have like, 1 new army planned, and that could either be a Bretonnia Campaign (unlikely, seeing as it would be the same as the Empire), Skaven (possible, as there are a few references to them in the game) or Wood Elves (Most of the area between Bretonnia and the mountains is inaccessible, and that is where they live in the Lore. They would also play differently to the rest of the factions, so I think it is most likely.

There actually isn't much in the way of noticeable bugs. This is probably the most stable release they have ever had.
There was a non-starting issue some people had, but that was either fixed in the day 1 patch, or they figured out the game was being blocked by their firewall. Either way, as far as bugs and stability goes, the game is surprisingly fine.
I can't see balance being tweaked much, since the unit balance is based on the tabletop, and a lot of the "underpowered" stuff are just people using the unit incorrectly.

The problem with the level of AI number inflation is that it can at times make some parts of the game pointless. I've seen AI with vast amounts of heroes. Far more than they can recruit, they hardly every fail. Your highest level lords just got back, great now he is about to get swamped and dead again. While the few the player can muster sit in fail city, or worse critical failure. Using heroes to sabotage building is pointless. When I was fighting Orc the amount of full stacks the AI was churning out never changed, no mater how large or small he got. On asking one of the dwarf factions to join mine I then immediately went bankrupt by 4000 gold as he had far more armies than he should be able to fund.
I also had a game where the AI would just make stacks of catapults, and nothing else.

Bullshit, look up mods like Radious for Napoleon, it changes AI behavior like aggression and trying to retake lost land, and managing armies better. Hell CA couldn't even program the AI to move armies across water in Empire.
