PS4 pad is okayish, but in exchange the analogue sticks are garbage.

The reason is literally because Nintendo had a patent on their Dpad design. The exclusivity ran out by the time the x-bone launched which is why that controller has a fine Dpad.
Really though, the wii u pro controller d-pad is fantastic. It's a shame about the triggers though.

The vita has the worse dpad this gen. Being clicky is not an advantage for a dpad, and the thing is fucking tiny. It's completely impractical.
I hate the playstation Dpads, they feel like four directional buttons to me other than a pad.
Nintendo's Dpads are pretty great, I wanna say the Dreamcast had an amazing dpad aswell but I could be biased based on the amount of time I played Third Strike on that thing.
