Most experienced devs really thrive with expansion packs. Given time, I think the short nature just allows for way more focus, especially when the more abstract concepts like core gameplay are figured out and you listen to fan feedback about their complains and wishes. FROM have always delivered though - although I think Bloodborne was better than Dark Souls III. Looks better on PS4 to me too.

BSB is alright. Literally JUST beat him on NG+2 with the Tonitrus and Wheel. Fun boss when he's a challenge, but it's easy to over level on a first play through and turn him into a cakewalk if you don't do Old Yarnham early.
Cool design, cool song, cool boss, but one of the weaker ones overall. I'd rate him just above Bitches of Hemdick and Celestial Emissary.

Just started a playthrough again, not played it since I completed the DLC just after it came out. Holy fuck I forgot how much I love it, my favourite souls game by a distance, even though I think it's the easiest. Just killed father gas again, still never died to him. I still remember my first playthrough without a music box, no ammo or blood vials left with him with a slither of health left and my desperately dodging waiting for an opening. Favourite boss has to be Gerhman though, looking forward to killing him again

I did learn it's not worth popping an antidote on more powerful versions since one hit is pretty much instant poison.

It's easily the most confusing area in the game besides Research Hall on a first play through due to it's size, you're not alone anon. It used to be my most hated area but it grew on me once I figured out where to go.
Follow the path if you're feeling overwhelmed, notable loot includes a few decent runes and the Graveguard set, which is a little hidden but has the best stats in the game. Here's a hint: you gotta make a jump for it.

Skyrim sidequests: copy paste dungeons where the end is always at the entrance. Get new weapons, armors, and shouts even though dragon/daedric armor/weapons is all you'll ever need in the game, and the only good shout is fusrohdah..
Bloodborne: fight some badass inaccessible bosses to get different weapons, couple new armor sets and new hunter tools that can't be found anywhere else. Only gems you'll ever need are 27.2 in a vanilla version of the weapon. You only need the other version weapons if you're doing arc or blt.

It actually scales pretty well with skill. Despite the C rating, it gets more damage per point of skill than point of Arcane with its A rating. You want to prioritize strength, but that means 25/25 before going 50/25, and if you level crazy then 50/50. The majority of its damage is physical in both forms, so it basically boils down to whether you want to prioritize the beam and L2 damage (where arcane scaling is massive), or everything else. It's a fine weapon either way, but the specialization is important.
If you don't go arcane, there's no reason to use the 2H form anymore, and the claymore will work very well with 27.2% physical gems. It will do near-LHB levels of damage, but is 1H leaving your gun usable. If you go arcane, most people use full nourishing gems to boost beam/L2 damage without totally trashing the physical component (which is still a large part of the weapon's normal swings).
It's a lot like the wheel, in that there are a couple specific setups that work very well, but really limit the portions of its moveset that are outside that setup.

Fuck you, I loved it and got the Platinum trophy and all the dlc trophies.
So I'm wheeling and dealing on my executioner character and think my blood gem configuration is pretty fucked currently. I wanna do a mostly arcane wheel. Currently have 30 str and 50 arc, and phys atk up 22.3% x3, curses being durability -60.8%, and beast damage down a total of 20.6%.
I think my mistake is that I'm putting phys gems on a build clearly meant for arcane, but I can't find any good arcane gems for the life of me, and the base 50 arc damage it deals is too small for some 18% arc ones to make a difference.

Kos is the Great One of water (dreams).
Oedon is the Great One of blood (nightmares).
Moon Presence is the Great One of the Moon (Blood as menstruation and Water as the tide).
As Moon Presence has dominion over blood and water it is able to disguise itself as a dream, when underneath it is a nightmare, as blood sinks in and is obscured by water. Similarly, Kos granted eyes to Rom to guard against the nightmare, as she is the Great One of water, and great bodies of water serve as a bulwark of sleep.

Oedon is refereed to as male, is alluded to have impregnated Yharnam and Arieanna, Annalise seems to be thirsty for him, and the blood dregs you can collect for her have a sperm-like quality to them shared by the Moon Presence.
So blood and nightmares are very much a male element in the game, and both Rom and Kos are refereed to and depicted as female, so you can say that water and dreams are female.
As the moon has sperm like qualities to its design, and a face like the cross section of an umbilical cord, and it captivates you by driving its face into your naval, and is seemingly lured down into the atmosphere by Mergo's tormented cries to give birth to the One Reborn, which is implied to be an artificial Great One made from a collective of those sacrificed in the Mensis Ritual, brought about by the School of Mensis tormenting Mergo in a nightmare presided over by Mergo's Wetnurse, who watches over the moon from its lunarium.
All the while Rom is obscuring the MOON from beneath a MOONside lake with the blessing of dead Kos washed up on the grand lake of mud, who is pregnant with a black wisp dreaming of its own wizened future self who curses blood drunk hunters and cries like Gehrman and wields a hybrid burial blade-umbilical cord weapon
