7 is objectively best but people hate it cause its popular
Recently started playing Final Fantasy IV again. Never liked it the first time, but for some reason I'm enjoying it this time. I think its because I remember all the weaknesses for enemies and I'm playing the game the way you're suppose to.
But outside of the gameplay, the story is still laughably bad, like all other FF games. And I'm getting tired of losing party members every hour.

It doesn't fix a lot of the problems of the original game. But then, most of the problems with FFIV are tied to the story. When it comes to gameplay, it adds a few minor improvements like getting items for exploring maps and augments. But it also increased the amount of damage enemies deal, so there's a couple times when you have to stop and level for a bit just to survive random encounters. The CPU boss is also bullshit.
In all, it just feels more like a graphical upgrade, but didn't really improve what needs to be improved. But then, no FF remake yet has improved the story and plot triggers.
