Literally nothing. Every game since then has been exactly the same. Tekken 6 was T5DR with bounds. TTT2 was T5DR with bounds and a tag mechanic. T7 is T5DR with armored supers. The series has been stagnant for 15 years. The reason you don't care about it isn't because it's changed, it's because it hasn't.

Tekken works on what is already built and remove things that don't work. Bound was not good and so they replaced it with tailspin. It makes combos shorter than 6 but still longer than 5.
Damage scaling means extending combos is pretty pointless since things scale and it's really not worth it, shorter combos are just as good because of how damage is received. But wall carrying is still useful since if you have someone against the wall you are at an advantage.
Another thing is that tailspin means shorter wall combos and not being able to extend a combo while at the wall, you have to change how you play depending on the stage.
Oh yeah the stages, some have wall breaks and some have floor breaks. One has a walled stage that goes into an infinite stage on the 2nd or final round.
Characters get new moves every game that actually matter because of mechanic changes. Armor moves are okay but need work because some characters lead into juggles while other don't.
Rage attack is very interesting but no one knows how to use it yet. Rage art is well balanced since if you have lower health then you could do more damage but could die faster since people can still hit you and you receive damage while doing it. But If you have more health then you do less damage when doing the Rage Art. Also you only have it once per round at about 30-40% health.
I think this game is doing fine.
