Nah, it's not dead but it doesnt have a huge community either. Ques range from near instant to 5-10 min, based on what time of day and peak play times and such.

Evolve went down to about 1600 players in just 2 months time and the only time they peaked again was in the summer when I think there was a sale and they also finally updated the game with the next monster DLC or something.
Battleborn has been getting a little better these days, probably the results of the -40% that are starting to show, but 4000 for a MP focused game that hasn't been out a month? That ain't good.
Especially not since even with this increase they're STILL getting cucked by Borderlands 2.

it would be a incredible game if gearbox weren't so mindbogglingly incompetent. the game is there but broken matchmaking, low framerates, visual clusterfuck and blatantly overpowered new hero no doubt made so people buy the season pass drive people away

Because they both died.
Also Evolve was chock full of DLC (though even Evolve was less scummy with its DLC since most of it was cosmetic), meanwhile Battleborn only has 6/27 characters unlocked when you buy the $60 game. The others you have to grind or buy.
