the new "garrisons" are literally nothing but a bunch of retarded afk shit you do once in a while, there is no real mandatory bullshit behind it, the game's feature revolves around your artifact, garrison resources have been replaced with artifact power, you earn said power by doing outdoor events and bullshit, you visit your class order once in a while to change some retarded shit like bonuses and zone abilities like in draenor
compared to wod garrisons there is nothing that chains you to the class halls, there are no mines, no herb gardens, no fishing ponds, no stupid minigames, no profession huts, no "garrison" events like invasions or bosses, but more importantly and this is KEY, the class order is shared with everyone, it is not your personal space anymore, you're going to see other players as well and that's a big thing since most class halls have interesting features, like the warrior one who has an arena for cross-faction fucking duels
i'm not hyped at all because i learned my lessons with wow xpacs, there's always something that is unredeemable, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to play it and have fun with it.
