Why? There's fuckall to do except those fucking bosses, boss rushes are used in other games like Punch Out but they work well. What the fuck was the point of that roaming around with your horse hoping you don't go the wrong way even with the sword? It was so pointless.
Also it pissed me off how the colossi shook you off every fucking second so you literally had to wait 5 minutes while still clinging on them and swining around like a retard before actually hitting them

This and Yoshi's Island are the best 2D Marios hands-down.
I'll never understand people who say SMW is better than 3. It has less power-ups, less levels, less variety in those levels, somehow worse graphics (Mario's sprite doesn't even have any depth to it like 3's), etc. SMB3 is the perfect example of Miyamoto's design philosophy done right before he went senile.

I mean, besides being a time-sink/time-waster, what is there to get from the game? The best films and books will comment on the human condition, make you think, invigorate your senses, and entertain you. Mario 3 does what? It um.... makes a couple hours go by a little faster? That's the best gaming has to offer?
At least Shadow of the Colossus, Gone Home, Hotline Miami, Majora's Mask, and Portal make you THINK while being enjoyable.

Think about just how many staples of Mario came from 3 alone, it's fucking insane. It's almost difficult to think that it introduced so much seeing as they just feel like natural parts of Mario, even shit like the world map originated in 3.

Once you get the hang of Super's advanced techniques it's smooth as fuck. Zero Mission feels extremely sticky to me by comparison, it has no flow.

Then you're in luck, friend. I'm really happy where they're taking the new Zelda. Ocarina of Time was a landmark but even they have admitted to piggybacking off of it too much. MM was a departure and WW was acceptable given the timing, but TP and SS relied too much on its formula rather than innovate. They're doing the right thing by changing it and I think once they take the series in a new direction it will be easier to appreciate the OoT clones in the context of the series once we o ow it's safe.

I'm not going to classify SotC as an art game. You play it to fight big guys and the game delivers. Reviewers might have praised the SO SAD FEEEELZ but it's meant to be played for the game part, being sad about the big guys is optional.

BioShock is still one of my all time favorite games to this day.
The atmosphere, gameplay, story, and music all just blend so well together, it's hard to imagine the game without a single one of those elements. People always debate on whether gameplay should be more important than story/setting but I like to think this is a good example of not being able to have one without the other-and that's what all games should strive for in my opinion.

It's a very difficult question. The most fun I've ever had online was on Spliter Cell Chaos Theory, the one I dumped the most time on and had the best mechanics was Ragnarok Online, the childhood defining one was Sonic 3.
It's amazing how porn games can be good, too. Even with the extremely limited selection of translated/fantranslated games we get, we are able to enjoy 10/10 gameplay gems such as Sengoku Rance and Kamidori, while others have excellent storytelling and themes, like Muv Luv and Sharin no Kuni.
