I would have liked halo 4-5 if they treated it like a spinoff series, with some random odsts/SIVs teaming up with an elite black ops squad to stop ONI and the Storm. No MC or forerunner shit, just bro-ops between the humans and covenant separatist races in a post-war society

I mean not the actual games but the plot. 3 ended just fine; somber peace between the Humans and Elites, the Flood repelled and Covenant in tatters and the Halo rings no longer a threat. MC stuck in space but will be found eventually.
But no, gotta have an entire new trilogy for one extra credit cutscene. Gotta have an even biggerer and badderer enemy. MC floats in space for about 20 minutes.

They should have left the MC alone after 3 and continued in the vein of ODST and Reach; focusing on other characters in other storylines. There was literally no reason to revive MC for another 3 games when there is so much more in the universe to explore.

I disagree that they should have kept going with adapting past events, since that just explodes the possibilities for retcons and other dumb shit, of the type that Reach was filled with. Keep things simple.
All I wanted was to enjoy the camaraderie and inter-species peace that we had all earned at the end of Halo 3. Is this so wrong? I wanted Shepard-Garrus bro-tier friendships and stuff, or hanging out with Hunters and other exotic shit like that.

when you think about it, the Rookie was sneaky as hell. You would have to be operator as fuck to get by all those multi-brute and hunter patrols solo, since attacking them in a "legit" fight would be suicide.

Destiny isn't bad at all though. In fact it's the only game that does fps RPG well. Hate the genre most days but I was pleasantly surprised by destiny. Bungie understands I don't want to spend forever running around a world in a fuckin fps so I appreciate that. Also the enemies are well designed, especially bosses which have more depth than any other game from this genre I've seen. Gameplay also feels great too, it's so smooth and it just feels nice.
